    Hypothetical

With Melvin Gordon threatening to demand a trade or sit out the season, would McCoy be tradable to the Chargers? They'd have a need, they're a playoff team. Their HC has first hand knowledge of McCoy. Not necessarily saying I'd want Gordon back in trade. It would be good for McCoy to go to a really good team. Our backfield is crowded, something has to give.

I would see if LeSean McCoy and a 2020 3rd round pick would get the deal done. Melvin Gordon is on the last year of his deal and wants a new market value deal. Spotrac is saying his market value is 4 yrs, $47,071,472, so if Beane is ok with paying him that and trading a 3rd round pick and McCoy to get him

Too much cash for a RB, trade McCoy for a pick and start Singletary..

Chargers aren't dumb enough to not pay Gordon, are they?

It also depends on what Beane thinks of the 2020 RB class. If Beane thinks he can get one of Travis Etienne, Jonathan Taylor, J.K. Dobbins, Najee Harris in the 1st or 2nd round in next years draft he might not want to commit big money to a RB when he can find a younger, cheaper faster replacement.

Beane has been adamant about not wanting to trade McCoy, so we will see what happens. I don't see McCoy being re-signed after this year if he stays on the roster.

I'd say no, but not because Gordon's is not worthy, he is,. I'd rather see Mcd and Beane use the draft for rbs and keep the Capitol for other spots on the team. Use them, abuse them, and then lose them basically at cost vs big $$$$ contract on such a brutal position in terms of longevity.
