The maligned on the Range Pete Prisco makes bold predictions for the Bills

In non-Pancho news, a guy who has been mocked on here a number of times has some predictions some will find interesting, if not actually agree with.

Maybe next year has been a phrase uttered by Buffalo Bills fans for years.

For many years, it referred to the Bills simply making a return to the playoffs. Sean McDermott was able to end the Bills’ playoff drought in his first season as head coach so now the phrase could be used to talk about Buffalo ending New England’s reign atop the AFC East.

The Patriots have won the division for 10 straight years and 15 of the last 16 seasons. Could their historical run be coming to an end in the near future? CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco believes that is the case.

During a recent episode of the Pick Six Podcast with Will Brinson, Prisco spoke highly of what the team has done in the offseason and noted that Josh Allen is better than what many people think of the second-year quarterback.

“Josh Allen is significantly better than the perception of him out there. And, yeah, he had some bad throws last year, but he had the most drops of any guy in the league. His offensive line was a disaster. As soon as he put his foot in the ground, he took off and ran. I think the improvements on the offensive line, the improvements around him in the pass catching game… Look, their offensive line will be much better. Their pass-catchers will be much better. They should run the ball better and he will be better.”

Just how good does Prisco believe the Bills will be in 2019? He think the team will contend for a Wild Card spot.

Prisco didn’t stop there, however. He made an even bolder prediction for Buffalo and said that the team would unseat the Patriots as AFC East champions in 2020.

“They’re not gonna win the division this year," said Prisco. "They’re gonna push for a Wild Card spot (this season), but in 2020 the Buffalo Bills will finally take over and win that division. How about that?”

Brinson’s first question to Prisco was one that many listeners were probably thinking: Will Tom Brady still be playing?

“Yeah, but the Bills are gonna take the division next year.”

If the Bills can take the AFC East throne away from the Patriots, perhaps “maybe next year” will be thrown around to discuss Buffalo’s chances of winning a Super Bowl.

Bold and I like it. I too think the Bills are going to be somewhere lurking over the 8-8 line this season, and if a few balls bounce their way, 10-6 is certainly in sight.

I think there are too many new faces to push for a division title this year, but with another draft, a good FA period and a team that's gelling with a QB that has the drive to win no matter what, 2020 could be pretty special. If nothing else, we should finish behind NE since the Jets are already imploding and the Dolphins are trying to find a fountain of youth they can drag the rotting corpse of Don Shula to, since they've been shit since he retired
