    many years of successful coaching internationally. played in the german hockey league where he was about a point per game through seven years. worked for the oilers for four years, the last year as hc in the shortened season, but was fired after that. switched to soccer where he was the director then chairman of one of the clubs until just this past april

    he looks 70+ but hes only 59. old enough to have seen a ton of stuff, still young enough to handle hc duties

    I'm glad the Sabres didn't grab a retread. I'm intrigued with the choice and cautiously optimistic. Hopefully a Ted Nolan with more X's and O's.

    Botterill said he wanted someone with NHL coaching experience. This guy coached one year then was fired.

    Krueger was coached by Botterill's father as a kid.

    I think it was 1/2 of a year....
