I want to care, but I'm having trouble. Let me know when they figure out how to coach up Eichel.

I'm hearing that Todd McLellan is closing in on an agreement to replace Phil Housley as the next coach of the Buffalo Sabres and that an announcement could come as early as tomorrow.

So...McLellan? Not sure how I feel about this as his last stint with a young team didn't go so well.

get a veteran coach who has won before. sounds easy, right? have terry and his plane flying all over to wine and dine the best available guys - and land one this time. drill another fracking well and pay the coach whatever he wants
Housley couldn't keep his lines straight. He would change them up in the middle of the game. He lost the team. Point blank.

He also didn't have the right mix of players to work with on the ice. He didn't have the thump line that could go out and change the pace when a game was going flat and his veterans, especially Okposo/Sobotka couldn't contribute the way they were expected to contribute.

I believe this team will be better with him gone, but I also believe he had a team that didn't have toughness and tenacity.
