And you judge a player now by half a year? A-rod > Papi
You can't judge a player by half a season A-rods numbers have been improving and they will continue to do so.

yeah cuz no one would want to take on that contract

    anyways, back on topic...

    Abreu > Cabrera
    Wilson > Williams/Crosby/Guiel

Eh, I don't really like Lidle. He's going to be a 5.00 ERA + in the AL. You got to go back to 2002 to see his last good season. I don't see how moving to Yankee Stadium is going to help him. He's got a penchant to surrender bombs against lefthanded hitters. That 313 FT porch should look awfully shallow. He's got decent control, but he's allowed more hits then IP this year. Now you're asking him to move to the AL East? Good luck.

Basically, the Yankees improved their offense, but did little to improve the pitching staff. By little, I mean nothing.

Oh well I dont think the deal improves the Yanks all that much

Lidle sucks and Abreu is nothing more than avg at this point. The short pourch in Right might help him though
i hope you take back that lidle statement after yesterdays game...he was looking pretty good to me...and abreu is going to help in huge ways...he gets on base...is 100 times better in right than anyone they had there...and there is nothing saying for sure that we will get matsui or sheff back...this team looks like the team to beat for sure now...and perfect timing with the red sox getting injured like the Yanks...lets see if they can overcome and battle like the Yankees...Go Yankees!!

I'm not taking back my Lidle statment yet

Yes he did have a good outing but lets not go crazy over 1 game.

There is a reason he almost a 5 ERA in the NL before he came over

But by all means if he wants to keep proving me wrong he can go right ahead :)

Abreu has been a pleasent surprise so far. He looks relaxed and that may have to do w/ the fact that the on the Yankees he is just another player instead of "The player" needed to drive in runs.

So, the Yankess pick up a $15 + million RF to replace their injured $15+ million RF? Yeah teams in Cleveland, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, etc. really have a chance to win. Until baseball goes to a salary cap: Baseball is gay and the Yankees are Richard Simmons. :gay:
