It's getting close to my late sis bday. She was a force of nature that had to know what you didn't know, and in a world where everyone was white, polish and catholic, refused to believe it. My sibs were all way older, but I always need tag along with her. She came to live in the mostly seedy Main-Utica area if anyone remembers it, was like the lower class Chippewa street back then, and Chippewa was wicked evil to begin with, and there's this little kid tagging along with his sister to evil hangout bars before liquor laws had a problem with it. I had an endless supply of grape nehi on the stool someone had to help me onto.
My sister, and pretty much all of them would explain street life to me gently, and I learned about Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Howlin Wolf and Etta James, and I learned about motown. Found out years later my brother broke all her motown records, told me so like it was a badge of honor. Told him he was damn lucky I was a child or I'd have broken his nose. They treated the kid like gold and talked to him seriously while he drank his grape nehi wide eyed and watched....people.....and this one is for my sis, because I adored her and always will.....and I was dazzled when I learned of motown back in the day....The Supremes ? Huh ? Can I hear more ? And everyone gave me money for the jukebox....

Lmao. I can't go to most of those cities because of Interpol and various law enforcement/militaries hunting me over various unfortunate circumstances related to poor life decisions I am sadly still pursuing for my personal benefit, if regretfully. But yes yes ! I am so all about children like Pee Wee Herman, er, Dr. Seuss ! And I could have written this mostly !

I'm not seeing vids, just links, this might also be one I posted before, but it's honestly one of the fiercest, no stopping songs I ever heard in a lifetime of heavy/speed metal....you crank it and you get it.....I always need oxygen after just watching it. One more Oaktowns 3-5-7. One year, my ex gf, dressed wicked sleazy, spent all New Year's eve flirting with anyone and everyone at the Continental, we weren't getting along, I was pretty sour, sitting there doing shots, talked about it with a bouncer, he was practical, you can't get into a fight with everyone even if you want to.
She comes, sits next to me as the clock is nearing midnight, smiles her serene smile, chin in her hand....says "Juicy got em crazy huh ?" The bartender started laughing loudly though the Fems were starting their next number. We managed about another year together. If things went bad, we'd say "Cold going mad". I sure didn't mind, hope she's still doing well out in Cali.

Years later, my mom is going fast and I'm trying. I had this chance to improbably meet a Las Vegas opportunist. She had some baggage but some education too, and I remember us sitting there after a few months of trying to figure out what was going on. I'm goofinf with her lil kid and a stuffed animal, she's watching, "so how you tell anyone you met me ?"
"Like I met you, even told my mom, stuff happens, people get it." She smiled, we goofed with the kid, she put this song on. I think she's doing real well too, got some degrees out there, does some stuff for real people.
