Apple, HTC, Motorola: Take note this is the phone of the year. I do not care what the iPhone 5 will have it is not gonna beat this phone. 4.8 inch Super AMOLED HD display, 1.5 dual core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2 GB of RAM (insane), 2100 mAH REMOVEABLE battery. Will launch for 200 bucks in White or Pebble Blue and will have 16 GB of onboard memory. There is a 32GB version also.. assuming it will be 300 but I do not think that I have seen a price for it yet. It supports microSD card for expandable memory unlike the HTC One X that just got put out on AT&T. It also looks like it will be keeping the single physical home button and 2 capacitive button configuration that has been on all international versions of Samsung Galaxy phones over the past few years. I am not sure if I like the one physical two capacitive setup... I prefer all capacitive or onscreen (like the Nexus).. not too big on physical buttons but that's a minor detail.

Here is an unboxing of the international version... expect for everything to be the same if the button configuration carries over to the states except the international version has a quad core exynos processor with no LTE support and the US versions will have the dual core Snapdragons with LTE. I am not sure of the RAM specs on the international one it is either 1 or 2 GB though.



Hopefully we get release dates soon now that we know who is gonna be getting it. All I know is that I can not ****ing wait.

Looks like a great piece of tech! I love the screen size. It's crazy that the Euros get a quad core phone! The dude in the vid was pretty careless with the cover, bending it this way and that. i wonder if the US version will have all of the phones antennae on the cover itself like the HTC REzound does.

Not sure if I like the power button on the side. Although the battery is somewhat large, don't forget that the screen is 4.8 inches of HD goodness which means it'll suck battery juice all day long. However, removable battery is clutch and you can always swipe out for a secondary battery or get an extended battery to fit your needs.

I kind of like the physical button, coming from a Droid X, which had the physical buttons. I don't think having a physical camera button is that big of a deal. Im sure if Samsung doesnt already have a lockscreen phone button feature built in, you can use a third party app to be able to access the camera from the lockscreen. You dont need a dedicated camera button on the side.

$200 bucks looks like a steal.

Question: Does anyone own a Samsung phone? How can you comment on it's quality and durability.

I own a Samsung HDTV and a Samsung LCD computer monitor. The TV's speakers are blown out which makes watching DVDs unbearable and the LCD monitor touch sensitive buttons are a chore to use when turning the damn thing on. I have to "touch" the power button on about 2 dozen times before the screen will actually stay on. So i havent had much luck with Samsung's products in terms of quality.

I LOVE that the front camera follows your eyes so it knows you're reading the screen and it doesn't time out. Taking a picture by voice command is also useful considering there's no dedicated physical camera button.

The 32 GB is gonna be 250 which will be 50 bucks cheaper than the iPhone 5 32GB. There is also going to be a red GS3 coming out.. I believe right now only for AT&T but it isn't gonna be out for a while.

Amos, I do not have a Samsung phone but I have a lot of experience. The flexable battery cover people constantly bitch about and it is for no reason. Samsung makes them flexable for a reason, you are not gonna snap it unless you try and make a V out of it. I love the Samsung build quality, it is plastic but it is so light and thin and it's just perfect. I will need to get used to the power on the side but that is just all in how I hold the phone.. no big deal. TouchWiz is my 2nd favorite UI, Moto being #1 when it comes to ICS skins. I like TouchWiz the most when it is skinned on Gingerbread. The software capabilities on this phone are gonna be awesome. You get S Voice is like Siri but it will actually be useful. The C pen which is a Galaxy Note-esque stylus and some other stuff. I'll post some more videos and stuff.

Ok here is the info you need to know if you want this sucker on launch day.

Verizon will start preorders on 6/6 I think Sahlens mentioned that above. You can order both the Pebble Blue and the White in either the 16 or 32 GB varieties.

AT&T start also start on the 6th with the Blue and White. Right now I can not find a source confirming a 32GB variety available, they all make special note that you can get a 16GB card at AT&T for like 40 bucks (way over priced) which gives you a total of 32 GB. They are going to release a Red varient but that will not be til the end of summer so nothing you can preorder.

Sprint and TMo are identical. The prices are the same as above you can get blue and white. The preorders start today and the confirmed launch date is the 22nd. They are the only 2 that have a confirmed release date.

I think I may have had that phone as well..... and it was indestructible. We called it the silver bullet. We'd throw it around and drop it on purpose all the time and it never stopped ticking.

i did the same thing! i destroyed it, eventually, with fireworks in college. i had the VX8000 at that point.

I have a Galaxy S2 EPic touch from Sprint but alas. I just got mine 6 months ago. So i have to wait another 1.5 years to get another phone. I have had pretty good luck with my phone so far. It holds up wonderful large screen love the interface. My only issue is the battery and of course i downloaded a big pile of apps and i barely use any of them. I am anxiously awaiting ICS to be released for the phone but i am not holding my breath

Impressive integration Samsung has achieved with this phone. Verizon is taking preorders on it until the 17th. That's only three more days for those who want to keep their unlimited data.
