I have a Galaxy Nexus. It's great! The screen is ridiculous. People constantly ask me what the hell it is! I have this one, $399 purchased straight from Google, with no contract Straight Talk(Straight Talk is literally AT&T service re-sold) $45 for unlimited talk/text & data!! It's cool because features like WiFi tether and Google Wallet are not disabled by the carriers. If I were you, I'd seriously look into something like that if you're out of contract. The only phone I like more is my girlfriend's HTC One X. Man, that thing is just awesome in every way possible. It's only on AT&T though. She signed a contract to get it.
BTW, I wouldn't say the Galaxy is any more prone to break than any other phone, I don't use a case and I've dropped it quite a few timesIn fact, I was always worried about my iPhone 4, since it's glass on BOTH sides! Doh!! I feel like I'm the only person that realizes that that was a terrible design idea, I see shattered backs as well as screens all the time.
Battery life on the Dinc 4G should be substantially greater than that on the Rezound because of the new chip. That is a big deal considering how poor it is on the Rezound, but I wouldn't call the phone "trash". It's still the best over all Android that Verizon offers imo. I'm not a fan of the battery life or the screen though. HTC phones have the fewest bugs out of the box. It's great that you have a moto that has never lost a data connection, but the fact is that many moto and Sumsung 4G phones do.
I agree with you wondering why more customers don't use the Radio Shack's etc. I bought the LG Lucid on Amazon for .01. Because of battery issues and a troublesome touchscreen, I returned it and they refunded my .01. No restocking fee and no problem. I'll seek a third party retailer next time as well.
Waiting for the iphone5, to replace my 4, which I got given to me by Verizon after the warranted 6 droidX phones in 6 months. Android is shit.
Happiness is like pissing your pants. Everyone can see it but only you can feel the warmth.
i love my droid X. ive had a few small issues. but really, its been a great phone.

Vic if you buy the one lowly Sony Xperia phone that is on the market right now I will come to Mexico City and smack you. They really do not do anything in the states as far as smartphones are concerned and I think the only one you can get was the Speria Play a.k.a the Playstation phone that flopped.
If you do a lot of email than Blackberry is still the way to go. They are the only one with a secure email client, neither Android or iOS have one. If you are not used to the on screen keyboard then I would recommend getting a phone with a bigger screen... 4.3 inches seems to be the sweetspot and the industry standard. If you do not like the stock keyboard, no problem there are tons of ones you can download on the Android Market, the iPhone you get one.. you do not like it? Tough.
Which Galaxy was it? There is the Galaxy S 2 line (ATT: Galaxy S 2, Sprint: Epic 4G Touch), the Galaxy Note (5.3 inch beast of a phone), the original Galaxy S line. Chances are it was the GS2 or the Note. My manager has the Note and loves it. A guy I work with had the ATT GS2 and loved it. I like Samsung phones, the UI is smooth and not in your face, the battery life is good (they actually put a good size battery in their phones) the design is awesome especially the white phones which may be the best looking phones on the market. I do not think they are overly fragile... the one complaint is the battery door is too flexible and people are afraid they will break it but Samsung makes them like that on purpose... you will not break it just trying to take it off.

I am not saying it is trash either. I think it's a great phone IF they charge like 100 bucks for it. If they want to put the price at 200 that means it goes up against the Rezound, the Nexus, the Spectrum and the RAZR. Every one of those phones is better. The Rezound is the closest to the Dinc. The Nexus is the best phone on VZW. Stock ICS is just downright beautiful. It's the easiest phone to root and mod it will also be first in line for Jellybean when it comes out. The Spectrum is supposed to be a good phone but as I stated I hate all LG smartphones, the specs are good but their UI is bush league. They need a few more iterations before it contends with Sense, TouchWiz and MAP. The RAZR is a great phone with a bigger screen and better battery life than the Dinc.
In the past year in the Buffalo area I have used a Moto D2G, DX, Bionic, Photon a Samsung nexus, GS2, Note and original GS bit and not one has had a data drop issue and that covers the 3 main carriers. The only one with a data issue was the Nexus when it was first released and all it was was the indicator was not working right.. had nothing to do with drops. In other areas of the country they may be issues, not denying that but I can only speak to Buffalo and I have never had an issue.
We may never agree when it comes to smartphones Sahlens but its all good I'll debate til I'm blue in the face.... or til my fingers fall off as it comes to forums.

so should i get galaxy nexus or galaxy SIII when my upgrade is available?
Whoa! god has a picture of me!
Tough choice....
If you are in to rooting and stuff the Nexus is the clear choice but the S3 will have the newest version of TouchWiz (if you like it) and Android. The GS2 line is at some point getting ICS but I don't know if a release date has been specified. The Nexus will be the first in line for Jellybean, that is how all the Nexus phones work. They are Google's baby so they get the perks of getting the new OS first.
I think the S 3 is gonna be the better choice. There are a lot of big software things that the S3 will have that you can probably get on the Nexus at one point but not right away. The screen is bigger on the S3 the processor is better and faster.
I have a friend who goes through phones like a fiend. I have known him for a year and in that year he has had the Atrix and GS2 on AT&T and then switched to VZW for the Nexus. He said that the GS3 is a great phone but because he roots and all that it is not worth the jump and he will keep his Nexus. Considering you have the DX I would take the S3

i just like the idea of the raw version of ICS.
Whoa! god has a picture of me!
As you should. Vanilla ICS is ****ing beautiful. It is so much better than vanilla Gingerbread. I would totally get in to rooting if I got a Nexus but I don't know if I would right away because stock ICS is so nice. The keyboard is one of the best I have used, it runs smooth with no bugs now. It started kinda rough with some bugs but as I know they have a lot of the big ones taken care of. The nice thing about the Nexus line is that you do not have to be one of the people hoping that they will get the next version of Android so in that sense it is the most futureproofed of any phone right now.

I also own the HTC Rezound. It's been a great phone, even if it's not top of the line specs wise. I'll run down the cons and tell you what I think of them:
-Yep battery life sucks. Here's how to get around it: buy an extended battery for like $30 bucks and you're golden for at least a day. Or do what I did and buy an after market extra battery and a standalone battery charger. Cost me about $10 all together and works fine for me. Turning off some of the radios will also save on battery.
-Screen outside is difficult to see. Boy was this a pain yesterday. Even with cranking the brightness to 100%, I had a lot of trouble seeing the screen at the beach. I tried taking pictures but I couldnt see what I was taking pics of. They came out blurry. It is a nice looking screen. I think i would go crazy if I got a phone with the pentile display.
-Thickness. Thicker than my old Droid X. But you know what, that phone seems too thin, in my opinion. I didnt like holding it. It was like holding the hand of a frail old woman. Although the Droid X was built like a tank, i just didnt like the feel of it in the hand. The Rezound feels good in the hand. It is thicker and heavier. This isnt a deal breaker for me.
-Beats. Meh, I havent actually been able to use them because i dont have any locally stored music on my phone. They may be crappy, but they are the best headphones I have over owned. Im not an audiophile so that wasnt a difficult accomplishment for them lol.
So the cons arent that bad, in my opinion. I'm bummed at how slow the ICS updates are coming out. I bought the phone based on the strength that it was an ICS ready phone. Its looking like I have to wait till August. But its not a big deal, gingerbread looks fine on it. I like Sense. Its a good phone and for $50, it was a steal!
Bashing the LGs because of their UI is a waste. Launcher Pro works great on them.
The Dinc 4G should be better than all of those other phones due to the solid reliability you get from HTC plus the great battery life/non heat issues and efficiency you get from the S4 chip. To each his own though. I prefer the 4" form factor and the screen should be much better outside than the Rezound.
Lol
No Sony phone then. Its just that these one looks pretty darn awesome

The page is in spanish but you can still see the phone.
I do hate the on screen keyboard but my Mac loving friends tell me its just a matter of getting used to it and it works out well in the end.
It was the Galaxy S II .... amazing looking phone.
I like the Iphone I really do. But I wanna know its the best option. Don't wanna be yet another Mac lover that thinks that no matter what those guys produce its always the best. I swear I have friends that would buy the I-car if it ever came out. Or the I-laundry if Mac ever decided to get into the washing machine business. They are blind followers. Don't wanna be like that.

i also think the iphone is a good phone. its just not for me. im an android guy.
i wish verizon was getting all these top end phones coming out. yes, the SIII is top end, but like the HTC top end phones and LG are all going to other carriers.
Whoa! god has a picture of me!
The onscreen keyboard thing I can sympathize with. I went from a Voyager (feature phone with keyboard and shit touchscreen) to the Droid 2 Global because I did not like the touchscreen on my Voyager and was worried that the touchscreen would suck so I got the Droid 2 Global. I stopped using the physical keyboard like 8 months in. The onscreen is great and with all the keyboards you can download it makes it even better. Also finding a case for a phone with a slider Qwerty sucks.
The iPhone is a great phone do not get me wrong, it's just not my cup of tea. If you want a simple OS that requires no searching and tells you want you can and can not download and can and can not change about your phone then it is for you. If you want something where you can screw around and change stuff around and download various keyboards and themes and launchers then Android is for you.

I have to say, as a former owner of an iPhone(1) an iPhone 3GS and an iPhone 4, and has zero brand loyalty, I believe I can speak objectively on this. There is no way that anyone in their right mind can step back from their loyalties either way and objectively conclude that any series iPhone is better than some of the Android phones out right now. The HTC One X is by far the best cell phone I've ever used in literally every single way; camera, UI, screen, widgets, silly fast browser on 4G etc. My Galaxy Nexus is, at minimum, marginally better and it's not even a flagship device. The RAZR series, especially the Maxx are spec'd way above and will be even better after the software upgrade and there's a bunch more I'm sure I'm forgetting. The Galaxy SIII will be the new benchmark I'm sure.
That's my feeling today. Technology changes so fast that when the iPhone 5 comes out, it WILL be the best phone there is. -For about two months. Every flagship phone that comes out is pretty much the best there is for about two months until the next greatest thing comes out. Now, I believe it's the One X(if there's something better, it furthers my case). In a month I'm sure it'll be the Galaxy SIII. Whatever comes out after the iP5 will probably trump that.
Moral of the story, buy what's the absolute best when you're ready to buy and you'll be happier in the long run. Forget about loyalties. If you're somehow willing to forego things like a big screen and LTE 4G for the next two years, get an iPhone, but I'm positive that it will be about a week until buyer's remorse sets in. If you've got to have Apple for some reason, wait for the 5.
