Mayweather vs. Cotto

Great matchup Saturday night.

Mayweather is a freak of nature. He's as fast if not faster than Roy Jones Jr. in his prime. He's probably the most cerebral fighter in the world right now. He outclasses everyone in the ring.

Miguel Cotto is a great power puncher with high energy and good movement but he's got a susceptible chin. Which makes his fights more exciting since you know he can be dropped at any given moment.

The undercard is solid too.

Alvarez vs. Mosley is one I'm looking forward to. Mosley has a great chin but this Alvarez kid is a great prospect. I have a feeling "Canelo" Alvarez ends Mosley's career.

The others...

Vargas vs. Forbes (filling in for Alfonso Gomez, which is a pity, since Gomez is better). I like Vargas.

Latimore vs. Quintana. I like Latimore.

I love Floyd Mayweather. He's such a dick.

After the Victor Ortiz fight, Larry Merchant was like, "If I were 50 years younger, I'd kick your ass!"

Floyd was laughing it off on HBO's 24/7 coverage.

"I don't care if there were ten 21 year-old Larry Merchants in the ring. They'd all come up short."

i guess cotto gave floyd a run for his money in a few rounds. he better not "retire" again.

Cotto did a decent job in the middle rounds. But he was totally outclassed down the stretch.

And that's always been the rep with Cotto. He runs out of gas.

The good news is that Mayweather vs Pacquiao is looking more realistic now. Pac is willing to get past the fear of needles. Mayweather seems ready to accept a 50/50 purse. Those were the biggest hurdles.

many view mayweather as the villian of boxing. people just want him to lose. the longer he stays undefeated, it brings boxing back. because more people pay attention to whether or not mayweather loses, and when he doesnt, they say "next time, dammit!"

As usual though the suspect Vegas judges saw another fight and the score cards proved it. Don't get me wrong. Money won. Fair and square. He's freaking amazing. A douche tough. But did you see the score cards ?? One judge scored 118 - 110. Bitch please. Same shit as with the Manny vs Marquez III bout.

BTW is that ever going to happen ?? Man that would be some fight.
