Bullshit, Anchor Bar doesn't have the best wings in Buffalo, never has. I never heard of anyone ordering pizza there either. You probably have 50 better places for a pie in WNY. Bocce, Leonardi's, LaNova.
Anchor Bar gets away with serving small wings because it's the "birthplace" and I always thought they oversauced. Duff's is better and I've heard Gabriel's Gate in Allentown has great wing by a bunch of different people.
Of course, I assume you are a troll with that username.

I love the anchor bar too, its tradition. I have a feeling people tend to hate on the Anchor Bar just because it is the well-known popular place for wings.

Anchorbar gets the credit for inventing the buffalo wing. They have, rather successfully, dry-humped this fact for quite sometime. HOWEVER, any TRUE Western NewYorker can quickly rattle off at least a dozen dive bars and area pizzerias that blow the Anchorbar out of the water.

I don't hate the Anchor Bar, but the OP says they are the BEST wings and pizza you'll ever eat.
That is just not true.
I make better chicken wings at home.

this right here! I've had better wings than Anchorbar in Fredonia at Wing City on rte 60. Took my out of town family to Anchor Bar. it was good, but even they said the pizzeria near my house in Angola has better wings.
In Buffalo, I'd say go to Gabriel's Gate.

Yet somehow, I bet a lot of people on this site are better understood by complete strangers on a low traffic sports website than by their own neighbors.

I thought I said that almost verbatim in my first post.
Trying to be funny?

He did the same thing to me in the thread about MolsonCoors. It's like he just runs our posts through Babelfish and then posts up whatever comes back to English.

I was never much for wings, so I dunno if theirs were real good, but it was an awesome place to go for pizza fingers, Ivano's accent (think he's the mgr or something now but was a bartender then), pitchers of beer from everyone chipping in because no one had money, and just hanging around in a relatively peaceful bar when I went to Bryant and Stratton across Main Street back in the 80's.
Ivano was hitting on a chick with us, who a friend of mine liked, my friend told him to leave her alone because he'd bite him. Ivano leaned on the bar, glared him in the eye and said, "Hyess, hwell I baaate tuooo". As no one wanted to really bite anyone or particularly be there when anyone was biting anyone in a raucous display of barroom machismo (there was Clancy's down main street for that), we all shut up and ordered another pitcher.
Loved the place for what it was, haven't been there in 10 years easy. If you're a pure wings lover ? I have no clue.

How can you not like chicken wings?
It's the Food Of The Gods.

Too small. Had to eat a ton of them, mess around with bones. Pizza was my Food of the Gods. Chicken Wings were nibble food and failed to soak up the vast quantities of beer I used to drink like water, counting on something to be soaking it up so no one had to carry me out.
Same thing later in life, order out ? Well wings, nibble food, hell no, pizza and fries with gravy. I don't eat dainty.
Honestly, dunno, I won't not eat them but never had a compelling desire to seek them out for their own sake.

Ive been to the Anchor and each time loved the wings.
Duffs, too soupy of a wing. If you want to taste the chicken, dont eat here. Also not crispy enough.
Gabes Gate, had decent wings too, can't go wrong there.
Warehouse wings, nothing to write home about.
My favorite was always Big Tree in Orchard Park maybe because I lived 10 houses away and could walk there lol. But they had the crispy wings with a lightly buttery hot sauce.

I tell everyone the same thing. You go to Anchor Bar first to pay homage to the birthplace and all that jazz. Then you go to the Duffs on Sheridan to see how wings are really done. I need to go to the Gate though everyone rants about them.
Also.. Anchor Bar pizza blows

It might, I have no clue, but the pizza fingers were good years ago. Come to think, the pizza fingers may not have been good either, eating there was just a side project for the drinking when I was supposed to be debugging a program across the street and I wouldn't have had a clue in measuring fine cuisine, because I also hung out with a pot dealer.
I would have found stale doritos in a pita made of dishrag gratifying. Might have eaten that too, can't remember, but it was good at the time.

When I was in Milan, I went to the Refectory at the Monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie to see Da Vinci's L'Ultima Cena (Last Supper). When I was in Buffalo, I went to the Anchor for wings.
Some things you just has to do.
Cheers, BostonTim
