Winter Break- shitty movie hates on Buffalo

Was watching this movie on my Roku player. I thought it could be funny. In fact, it kind of was in the beginning. Up until the movie started to shit on my hometown! Why does this matter? It doesn't really. The movie was made in 2003. They make fun of Buffalo as being nearly in Canada, cold, snowy, lonely etc. The main character finishes college, his job prospects fall through, and in order to pay off student loans, he has to take a menial job at his uncle's business in Buffalo, NY. Commence the Buffalo sucks jokes. In fact, the writers werent even all that specific. It was just, "You can't possibly go to Buffalo. Don't go to Buffalo. Why would you want to go to Buffalo?"

I was genuinely pissed, so I turned off the movie and wrote a scathing review on Amazon (Big Sack Jack, if you are curious).

Now that it's 2011, the economy is still in the shitter, Buffalo has done quite well for itself. Water front is coming together, new Court building, Main street is being opened to traffic, Sabres got a new owner, the Statler is now Statler City, the Electric building is back open, the burchfield Penny Art Center is open, Termini has redone the Lafeyette, and lots of other good stuff has happened.

So **** Winter Break.
