Mr diamond goby in his back corner hiding spot... He sifts the sand at night by scooping into his mouth and sifting through gills... Keeps the sand bed clean and oxygenated.

some of my plants are doing better then others. i added a second lamp for the "dark side" and its coming up.

i also added 16 feeder guppies, hoping they would last long enough to breed and sustain a population. theres 2 left, but ill be dammed, theres 2 fry in there as well.

What else is in there eating the guppies?

    How's the larvae doing?

My latest project is trying to get my angels to breed. They have laid eggs before but ate them before I can get my fry tank ready. And now that I'm ready they are on strike.

But in my 75 planted tank, about a dozen cherry barb fry have grown to be about 3/4th an inch and are doing well. Can't believe that many fry survived with my rainbow fish and loaches on the prowl. Just goes to show you what lots of plants can do.
I don't think it will be a blow out. I'm seeing a low scoring boring game with the Bills losing due to some stupid, crazy, freak play aka Marc Sanchez leading the Jets on a 99 yard game winning FG with no time left. And America will be back to line up and blow him.

the larvae are doing good, but i put them in my friends tank since his is bigger and better suited for the larvae. i caught some larger larvae and they are in there now. gonna get some brine shrimp pretty soon for em today. there isnt anything else that should be eating the guppies.

Besides dirting the tank you can get pressurized co2 if you want to drop 100-150 bucks. Worth it though I think. Plants also benefit from frequent water changes. But of all the options I think dirting the tank is the best. I had an established 75 planted tank for years, with pressurized co2, ferts, HC fluorescent lights and one day I said hell with it and ripped it all out and put down a layer of dirt and I saw changes in 24 hours. Yeah it made a mess and took several hours but it was worth it.

Bad news... Sir goby tank jumped last night. Found him on floor of kitchen of all places last night.

Cat must have brought him in there after he played with him for awhile.

    Bummer.

    My condolences.

I have lost 3 Indian Runners to swan assassins, 3 ducks to female pup dogo, 2 ducks who simply disappeared and 2 peacocks to retarded employee's negligence.

    It saddens me every time.

I hope all death has come to an end out there.

I speared 2 gar pike on saturday, both over 3 feet long, seen one that was 6'' across it's back, had to be 5 feet or better.

Hell yeah. Remember use organic! And make it muddy before you cap it with your gravel and then fill REAL SLOW.

because of my axolotls, i have to use sand. so you think a dirt/gravel/sand substrate would be best? also, do i plant the plants before filling with water?

tore apart and redid my tank yesterday. dirted it, then added sand. it looks so much better, as i created more room for plants. waters still a little murky, but water changes and time will solve that. also considering getting a new light fixture next.

So slimmer developed a small leak at one of gaskets.

Company (Precision Marine) sent me out a new gasket no questions asked. Replaced it and while I had it apart cleaned one small air intake hose. The air intake hose was almost closed off secondary to some coral glue that got gunked up in it. Cleaned the hose out and put everything back together.

The slimmer is running better than it ever has... Can't wait to see over next month if my coral growth improves.
