t-5 bulbs wont fit in my fixture. the prongs are too close together. so i have to get t-8 bulbs, but i found different t-8 bulbs that are good for plants. i got one today, but the wrong length. should have paid attention, eh.
oh, and the larvae are growing rapidly. every few days i get a gallon of pond water and put it in the tank so they have food. and every time i catch more larvae in the leaf litter.
Whoa! god has a picture of me!
Cool. You know which kind you have yet? My Chinese and Japanese newts actually spawned and laid eggs in my vivarium but none of them hatched which doesn't surprise me since they are different species.
I don't think it will be a blow out. I'm seeing a low scoring boring game with the Bills losing due to some stupid, crazy, freak play aka Marc Sanchez leading the Jets on a 99 yard game winning FG with no time left. And America will be back to line up and blow him.

still not sure. but they hatched sunday, and they had front legs monday, and some have what i BELIEVE to be back legs starting to sprout. so with the rapid development, i believe they are red spotted newts. unless the warmer water of the tanks in my house encourage more rapid development. but im really leaning towards newts.
how long ago did your newts lay eggs? that would be something if you had some hybrids.

They have done it twice in the last month. They eggs begin to get fungus in them 24 hours later. It would be cool. I have had the japanesea newt since 1997.

sean will appreciate this. went for a hike and turned over a log. found 4 different species of salamander under 1 log. red backed salamander, blue spotted salamander, spotted salamander, and an eastern newt (eft)
it was a small log too.

state land in the southern part of my county. never been there before. we wernt finding shit and we turned over a log. the blue spotted was really young, as most of the spots were huge and almost white. real light blue. it actually looked more like a marbled, but we dont have those here.
Whoa! god has a picture of me!
How's the larvae doing?

getting large! they like to swim alot and are looking more developed. they had front legs after 1 day, but still, 2 weeks later, no back legs. you want some? hahaha.
i also got a new filter for my axie tank. fluval c-3. its usually a 50 dollar filter for 33 bucks. i guess fluval is a really quality brand.
also, went back to the state land. we found, no joke, 6 LARGE blue spotted salamanders on top of each other. like a pile of salamanders. one was close to 6 inches. we kept a few, as my buddy made a woodland terrarium. ferns and logs and moss. its bad ass.

pair of cleaner shrimp.. They hang upside down most of the day go about cleaning the rocks and fish of any parasites at night.. Fish are easy targets at night because most wedge themselves somewhere. Cool to watch them work because they will even clean the inside of the fish's mouth.

my clown fish "Jeff Bridges" hanging in his now two anemones. It just spilt.. If I take one to a local saltwater store I'll get $60 for it.

the orange fish is an anthias.... Schooling fish. Bought 5 at once. One becomes the dominant male (shown) and one becomes the dominant female. One was killed by the school so I'm left with four. If you look... You'll see a spike on the dorsal fin. That along with an eventual color change to red identifies the male. The fish shown didn't grow the spike on his fin until he was in my tank. Neat to watch the behaviors evolve.

Lunar lights... Badass to see in person because the colors in the corals fluoresce like in the movie Avatar. The pic doesn't do it justice.
