I know this probably won't get much action since most of you are on the East coast but I figured I would post it anyway since there have been threads about Stone Beers.
If anyone is ever in the SD area I highly recommend a trip to Stone Brewery, the place is awesome. I have been there 6 or so times (my office is near there) and every time I love it. I went recently and had the Stone Ruination, Ballast points Sculpin IPA, and Pliny the elder. The bistro there is a bit pricey for a bistro but the food is excellent. They have a bar indoors and seating inside and also seating outside that is surrounded by tropical plants, fire pit, and an outdoor bar that is open at 4pm. The building itself has a warehouse feel to it with large garage doors that open to the patio. Really relaxing place to go have some food and beers. But a bit pricey.
Some interesting and amazing facts about Stone: In 1998 Stone brewery gross revenue was 940k, in 2009 it was 48 million. I guess they are doing pretty good. They are expanding the current facility in San Marcos, Ca and also opening up a smaller restaurant and brewery in point loma (near downtown, San Diego) and a shop in South park where you can go buy beer in bottles, kegs and growlers. Stone is also trying to open a brewery in Europe to become the first American craft brewery in Europe.
If you happen to find yourself in San Diego I highly recommend trying to get to Stone Brewery in San Marcos. Awesome place. I feel like I just wrote and ad for them... lol
