Love the Andruw Jones signing. I'm such a big fan of this move.

Guy is a huge upgrade over Marcus Thames (which is whom he is essentially replacing.)
    For discussion purposes.

    Andruw Jones 2011 HR Total: 20.. over/under?
I'm going to be bold and say over. He's going to see quite a bit of play time because he can play the field so well. He will get tons of time spelling Grandy and Gardner. He will be a constant defensive upgrade also. He's going to see quite a bit of ABs. That's my justification for saying over... the man just straight up mashes lefties and we have plenty of them in the AL East.
    ----

Also, it seems like Andy won't be back. If this is the case the 5th spot in the rotation will be up for grabs. It'll probably come down to Joba or Mitre. I'd go for Joba without hesitation.

I read yesterday that he's keeping himself in shape and just began throwing. Doesn't mean he's coming back. But it also means he's at least still considering it. I still think he comes back.

I'd jump off tallest building without hesitation. Talk about not having options.

As much as Joba pisses me off, he's 25. Lots of room to grow. Huge ceiling.

Colon to MiLB deal with ST invitation.

Low risk high reward. He has a sub 2 ERA in Winter Ball this year.

I thought Colon had a chance to be a low-risk high-reward move, over 2 years ago. Even if he can be effective, he won't stay healthy as proven over the last few years.

Yeah but the 5+ era Joba doesn't scare anyone!!! I'm happier with Robertson, Soriano, Mo... With Feliciano as the LH specialist!!!

    Rotation is currently - - CC/Hughes/AJ/Nova/Colon-Garcia-Mitre-Joba-Swisher-SOMEONESTEPUPPLEASE

We could be much more worse off. I'm just worried about CC opting out after this season. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

That is some shitty news right there. One of my favorite Yankees.

I'd be surprised if he did, since in the beginning of the offseason he said he loves it in NY. Hopefully that wasnt said with an assumption that his traitor buddy cliff lee was coming.

Reports are saying Andy told the Yankees after the season he would come back if the Yankees signed Lee... If not he wouldn't.

Make me wonder if Andy didn't have faith in the team winning the WS without Lee.

It all ended when Bengie Molina grounded out to Alex Rodriguez, though no one knew it at the time. It was actually a well-struck ball heading down the third base line, but Rodriguez laid out, sprang to his feet, and fired a one-hopper that Mark Teixeira scooped out of the dirt. In celebration, Andy Pettitte let loose with a mighty pump of the fist. With today’s news that Pettitte will announce his retirement tomorrow, that fist pump marks his final act on a pitching mound.

Sorry to see him go, always loved Andy... on a side note we are in trouble this year... CC being th eonly certain thing. Hughes is a question mark to me, only because he's young and only had 1 big year, but hopefully that was the first of many... AJ well nothing to be said. I think Nova can win 13 games... lets hope they can cash in on one of their fliers, Garcia, Colon, Pryor? Man if it was 2002 we'd be set

Sabathia expected to opt out next year. It's a good move by him, they are saying there are really no good free agent SP's and and the Yankees inability to land Lee will force the Yanks to give him a 7 year 175 million dollar deal... unless of course he goes 12-15 with a 4.79 ERA hahaha we'll see..

He'll opt out, and it was expected. I think we will be able to bring him back though, he seems to have taken to NY

Apparently he said last year that he wouldn't opt out. Heard Franceca say that the other day. I guess no one took that seriously.

He'll come back. We certainly have the juice to keep him and he really seems to enjoy playing with us.
