If Losman sucks for the rest of the year and Troy Smith is sitting there and the Bills don't draft him, I might lose it. You can't pass on Leinart and then Smith if you don't have a quarterback.

Like I said, though, that hinges on Losman not improving.

Raiders will get Troy Smith as it looks as of now. Brady Quinn? I think the only other teams that are in desperate need of a QB next year might be Kansas City or Miami unless Joey Harrington has a breakout season which I doubt.

But don't cream your pants already Anti-Losmaniacs. We'll maybe be bad this year but not bad enough one of these guys will fall to us.

Not trying to flame my OSU brethren, but Troy Smith will never make a good NFL quarterback. I would equally lose it if the Bills wasted a first round pick on him. Not an NFL-quality passer and he's too short.

Sammy,

If the Raiders take Troy, I'll be more than happy to land Brady Quinn. He might be the most pro-ready of anyone in college right now.

The Chiefs just used a Day One pick on Brodie Croyle in April; I doubt they'd use a first-rounder this year on another QB. Doesn't Miami have too much invested in Culpepper to spend a high pick on another quarterback?

Bills, Raiders, Ravens, Browns (arguably), Lions are the teams privy to draft one early.

As of now, I heard Troy Smith was looking like a late 1st/early 2nd round pick. Guys like Brady Quinn, Brian Brohm, and Drew Stanton are listed ahead of him.

Of course, that will change dramatically by the off-season (like Phil Rivers in 2004).

Really. So what are his flaws. Holding on to the Ball to long? ;)

Chase Daniel and Tim Tebow will be real good pros I think. But that's a few years down the road.

Isn't Tebow basically an option QB? I haven't really watched him enough to know. Seems like every time I have a Florida game on, the guy is running.

To be honest I forgot whom most teams picked in the 1st round. My bad :)

I wasn't aware of the fact that Troy Smith as of now isn't projected a top 10 pick.

Not sure, to be honest. In CNNSI's "Risers/Sliders" section (last week) the author listed Smith as a "riser" and said going into the season he was thought of as a late day one pick, but with his good play has moved into the 2nd round, and possibly could sneak into the first.

Clearly, he's not a consensus top ten pick by any means yet. But as stated before, neither was Phil Rivers this time of year and he made it to 4th overall.

Obviously there's a long way to go, I just don't think anyone should be talking about "losing it if the Bills pass on Troy Smith." Especially when we don't even know our draft position. Geez!

Well... sort of. He's a thicker, stronger version of Alex Smith, whom Urban Meyer coached at Utah. It's the offense, really. He can throw the ball, and definitly will next year when he's Florida's fulltime QB. Right now, Chris Leak is doing the passing, and Tebow has been coming in to run the plays that Leak isn't as good at, but are staples of Urban Meyer's offense.

Tebow is a great kid too. He's done all sorts of volunteer work, and has spoken in front of huge crowds. Very comfortable in a spotlight and very humble. Seems like a total team guy.

He was the #1 prep QB last year. Option QBs are not considered the best High School QB in the nation. So he's got it all.

No doubt.

I do think Smith will fly up draft boards after workouts and a national championship.

IMO, I don't think Smith will go into the first round. If anyone takes him that high I will think they are nuts. The OSU offense is a great college offense and he runs it to perfection, I just don't think that will translate into the NFL, well at least for a 1st rounder. I would think a late 2nd would be perfect and let him learn the NFL game.

It is a great college offense, but its also very complex. The run out of so many formations... and he spreads the ball around so well.

WXP, you think he's 1st round material? He certainly is a great leader on a great football team, so I could see him being there.

Troy Smith would be a neat QB of the future, but I just hate getting QBs in the 1st. So much pressure, so much expected early if there's not a good incumbant.

You know...I don't know.... I imagine that if his season ends with a Heisman and a national championship that he'll be taken early..... If Vince Young was #3 then who knows....Smith is a much smarter and more talented passer than Young.

Wrong.

Troy Smith will actually make a VERY GOOD NFL QB.

Yes, he is shorter than usual. If he was 3-4 inches taller, he'd be a sure fire top 10 pick.

But being short won't be his problem.

Some team is going to be very happy getting him in the latter parts of the first round.

Drew Brees went 29th because of height. That's worked out pretty well.

We aren't getting Smith either way, although I would love it.

We will pick to high to draft him (unless Marv wants to pull another OSU shocker), and he won't last till the 2nd.

I like Smith and Quinn also but as of now i dont see the Bills getting either one.

I would love us to pick a guy in the 4th round or so and the guy im looking at is Drew Tate , he doesnt have much help this year as its a very young team.

Ugh, Palko cannot control his emotions. That's one player I DO NOT want on the Bills. Besides the fact he has played squat for good teams this year.
