Sure, why not. I like the idea of chattel slavery. Better yet lets enslave the latino population. I mean we have illegal immigrants and they shouldn't be here so lets round them up and auction them off into slavery. Better yet lets split families up and deny them of any and all constitutional freedoms. To be on the safe side latinos who came in here legally should be stripped of their rights to vote and the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments should be abolished promptly.

This brings up another very sad and very pertinent fact. In most of the sweat shops in the southwest, the migrant worker agribusiness jobs, and third world factories that are now a major chunk of the American economy (sad, but true) they actually spend less on the workers than plantations in the era of chattel slavery spent on their slaves. Many of the workers in these attrocious conditions have it even worse than African Americans who found themselves trapped in a lifetime of dreadful and unlawful servtitude in the the age of chattel slavery. Now I am no fan of slavery (If you are, I would suggest you read some Frederick Douglass to set you right) but slaves on the old plantations in most case had medical care, adequate food, and clothing. Thats not true of the people, mainly illegal aliens and immigrants who come here to eek out a new life, who see themselves caught up in the neoslavery of the modern age.
