WASHINGTON, Oct. 11 — Two months after a tumultuous Senate primary that was hailed as a watershed moment in American politics, Senator Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut appears to be comfortably ahead of his challenger Ned Lamont in their general election rematch.

Survey USA has Lieberman's lead at 12 points. Quinnipiac has it at about 8. Results,as you can guess, are all over the place.

Reality is that Holy Joe leads by 7-12 points. Decent lead, but still within striking distance.

The point is that eight weeks ago, the moronic pundits and Democratic Undergrounders were dancing on Lieberman's grave. This shows they have no idea what they are talking about ... so I'd be wary of predictions about a Democratic takeover of the House and Senate.

Joe will win this seat by a very very wide margin.

And if he does, we'll see if all the people who had pronounced him dead in August -- some of whom are Rangers, BTW -- will have the balls to come out and admit they blew it.
