I know this guy has great puck control, great on the boards and in the zone, but I'm looking for some goals from this guy, hes had a few chances, some in the OTT game, he just doesn't capitalize. For 2.35 million I think he should do a little more than win some battles on the boards and play hard. I hope he turns it around but for right now, he's not a big scorer, and hes injury prone. We'll see, but even last year, he wasn't much of a goal scorer especially on the breakaway. I know I 'll hear everyone's "hes great on defense," but for 2.4 million we have good defensemen, we need someone who can produce both ways.

I see your point, but its only 3 games into the season. Like the power play give him time, and he hasnt been bad with briere and pominville.

I never thought of him asa scorer, he is a defender and is a top flite pk guy
if he can notch 20 this season that's just gravy. I want to see him working the boards, defending the top lines and erasing chances on the pk
speaking of the pk with vanek seeing time on the penalty kill is it possible to create 4 pk lines? drury-hecht, gaustad pominville hecht vanek roy novotny, with all those guys that can kill and do see time on the pk, that seems to bode really well for the sabres

Yeah I definantly agree, I dont think we will see 20 goals from him but I feel he is our catalyst. Last season when he went out this team didnt play so well. Without Mike Grier we need a player that can go flying into the boards and take control of the puck, and we will see this time and time again from Jochen this year

Hecht hasn't been good for the last two seasons. He's been non-existant this year so far.
And I don't want to hear that we're paying a guy over $2 million to be a PK, defensive forward, and that it's gravy for him to pump in 20. If he doesn't score 20, especially playing with Drury and the amount of ice team he gets, he's not worth what we're paying him.
This is his last year with the Sabres no matter what he does..

patience patience... we could also complain about Spacek earning more than Drury... but it's just the beginning of the season... let's wait til mid-way to start doing this...

I'm all for patience, and I understand it's 3 games. But Hecht has been weak since last year, this really isn't anything new.

Hecht is a terrible finisher.
