Well at 95 years old, Buck O'Neil passed into baseball history. He was a legend around Kansas City and probably would have been a better manager than anything the Royals have had in a while. Buck was one of those people who could walk into a room and brighten the spirits of everyone there. I never knew Buck personally, but I met him at my high school graduation. I swear I only met the man but he gave you the aura that you had known him all your life. He was one who exuded life, energy, and kindness. For the love of God MLB honor him and put him in the Hall. He deserves to be in there. Mr. O'Neil I salute you. Damn God must be building one hell of a fine baseball team.

More about the man, you tell me he doesn't deserve a crack at Cooperstown.

Buck was a great guy; I have his autograph. He absolutely must be elected into Cooperstown ASAP. It's a joke he's not already in there.

Wow, this is awesome. The State of Missouri is ordering flags at all government buildings to be lowered to half mast. Also his body will be lying in state at the Negro Leagues Museum at 18th and Vine in KC. Goodbye Buck, MLB get your shit together and get him in the Hall right now. Better yet help build his hall of education. Damn Buck was a great man.

I should go as far as to say if Buck is not put in Cooperstown this summer I shall never again attend another MLB game.

Two things:
1. I do think the Hall will do right by Buck and vote him in next year.
2. Even though MLB has suffered some drop off in attendance since the '94 labor problems,I'll believe the vow when it actually happens.
