Raised his game this week against Auburn going for over 60 recieving yards.... leading the Bulls in receptions and yards. I like that he had his best game against UB's toughest opponent. He's a decent athlete who is known for his hands and his tough blocking. At 6'4'' he has the frame to put on more bulk (he's listed at 246). He's the son of MLB legend Willie Upshaw and nephew of Gene Upshaw and like his father and uncle he is intelligent, has great leadership, and would fit Marv's character standards. He's widely regarded as one of the top TE's in the nation but is not considered elite. Could get drafted in day 2, especially if he puts up good numbers. Has also participated on the basketball team, which is among the best in the NCAA. If he goes undrafted there is no excuse not to sign him and give him a shot here in B-lo.

Wow, Gene's son? I had no idea such football royalty played for the perpetually hapless UB Bulls. I kid, of course. UB will be good soon enough. Turner Gill's the perfect guy for the job.

I gotta admit I like what I hear from Gill whenever I read the campus newspapers and such. I never like Hoffher, he didnt breed winning. Gill demands effort and the right attitude.

I think the Bulls need to start looking for a new coach...because Gill won't be here long, he's headed for an SEC, ACC, or Big 10 team very soon.

He really didn't have any offers besides Buffalo - that won't change after only one season. I doubt he'd take a step back and be a coordinator somewhere else.

If he makes a bowl team out of Buffalo and Callahan is out in Nebraska in a few years, he'll end up there for sure.

Give Turner five or six years and he'll be coaching at a high-level conference.

Correction, son of Willie, nephew of Gene.

Will likely earn a training camp spot if not drafted, could be practice squad material. Will probably need to get bigger/stronger to earn a spot as backup TE's are used more as blockers.

The pass catching TE is lost in the NFL today, they might as well be Offensive linemen. Hell, our best offensive lineman was a tight end in college. I really like Upshaw's playmaking ability, he just makes the catch when they really need it.
