This is awesome! Its about time we can just grab anyone off the street and hold them in a torture chamber for a year without having to go to court, or giving them any legal rights. I mean, if it can happen to a Canadian, it can certainly happen to an American, its about damn time.

Arar, now 36, was detained by U.S. authorities as he changed planes in New York on Sept. 26, 2002. He was held for questioning for 12 days, then flown by jet to Jordan and driven to Syria. He was beaten, forced to confess to having trained in Afghanistan -- where he never has been -- and then kept in a coffin-size dungeon for 10 months before he was released, the Canadian inquiry commission found.

pussy? I'm the guy that's petitioning Congress to institute caning for minor offenses, you should see what I want to do to real evildoers.
By the way, write your local Congressman or woman (as well as you Senators) and tell them hat you are all for caning in the US!
Here's a little description I drew up of my proposal:

You're right, ten months in a coffin is for little girls and gimps. Any real man would have requsted poisonous snakes to be added to the mix.

One could make the argument that it already has. Padilla was held for three years without a trial. America, at least the America that I grew up in, is better than this. Okay guys and gals your next chance to save the Republic comes in November, I hope and pray that you won't be asleep at the wheel.

Of course you could be wrong. The CIA tortured him in Syria. Funny, huh?
He's seeking compensation from Canada because they sold him to US.

It was the RCMP's crappy info that put Arar in the situation he was in.

It is also showing how biligualism is not working. You do not get a job because you are good at what you do, it is based on your speaking of the 2 languages. So you could be the best pick ,but will get looked over becasue you can't speak french, but the idiot that can speak both gets the job. If we ever needed a majority conservative goverment ,now is the time.

How the :censor: do you make the jump from lousy intel by the RCMP to U.S. authorities and tie it into multiculturalism AND say that because of this,we need "a majority conservative government"? I guess I have to take your stash of tree, inhale a good amount of it and see it the way you do.

I guess I have to take your stash of tree, inhale a good amount of it and see it the way you do.1- When did I say the word multiculturalism. 2- When you base your hiring on bilingualism ,you take out alot of smart people. 3- Why does the country have to be bilingual when quebec does not. 4 - Why is about 50% of taxpayers dollars go toward 22.4 % of the pop. 5-Why does ottawa have to be fully bilingual when less then 10000 people are unilingual.6- The mounties have become a joke , invovled in liberal scandals and acting like the keystone cops. The libs have ruined a great country. We lost our place on the world stage when chretien took power. We became a joke,he turned this country into the world's hotel and doormat.

ticat....on point #1: I was trying to say bilingualism instead of multiculturalism. BUT,the overall take still stands. You cannot make the jump from crappy RCMP intel that led to Arar being taken to Syria and somehow lump it in with the bilingual matter,AND throw in Quebec, why Ottawa has to be bilingual and ranting on the Liberal Party on top of it-unless you're trying to score some cheap-ass political points.
Oh,and being unilingual is the only way to be smart? Seems to me dumb is dumb,no matter if you speak one language or a bunch.

'We became a joke...hotel...doormat...' is Valley-speak.
Translated into English, it means 'they let the darkies in'

Seems to me dumb is dumb,no matter if you speak one language or a bunch. What don't you understand about a policy that excludes a majority of the population from getting these jobs. Do the math man. It is a racist policy. Do you even underrstand about bilingualism in this country and how unfair it is.Or how stupid it is for the quebec goverment's language police ,running around with a tape measure ,measuring store front signs to make sure the french is larger than the english and this is in english quebec. Think about it!

Or the 4 million people with dual citizenship, that all they have to do is show up everynow and again and they get to come here just for the free health care and collect their old age check, and people wonder why our health care is ****ed up. Only in canada where you don;t have to live here to collect a check.

Proof?
Just in case you haven't gotten it through your head,I'll ask it again-and I want an answer: How does the RCMP's :censor: up of intel in the Arar case tie in ANY way, shape or form to bilingualism?
