Any possibility that they sign a deal with the Bisons? Is this even possible because of the relationship with the Indians? Seems like a natural switch to me.

Yankees might drop Columbus as top minor league affiliate

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- The New York Yankees might end their 28-year affiliation with the Columbus and align with another Triple-A team.

The International League team said Friday the Yankees have informed them of their intentions.

Any possibility that they sign a deal with the Bisons?God I hope not. The Yankees AAA teams are never any good.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's already Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Good news for us here in Buffalo who are Yankee fans. Since the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Red Barons are in the same division as the Bisons, they will come to Buffalo more than one series. Next year they are scheduled to come here three times with the first time being a four game series from Tuesday, June 5-Friday, June 8. Then comes two-two game series-Sunday, Aug 12-Monday, Aug 13 and Saturday, Aug 25-Sunday, Aug 26. Columbus only came here for one series and it always seemed to be played in April/early May when the weather sucked. (For example-next year Columbus is scheduled for one Buffalo appearance-Monday, May 7-Thursday, May 10.)

Unfortunately a couple of my internet friends who live near Scranton and attend Red Barons games there, arn't as happy about this at all. They are definiately not Yankee fans. Haven't asked them yet if this means they will stop attending Red Baron games or if they do attend will it only be for when the Phillies new Triple A Club comes to town. (Ottawa in 2007 and then Allentown, PA in 2008 etc.)

Your friends might not be happy, but their is a large number of Yankee fans in Scranton. Yeah the Phillies are probably the most popular, but the Yankees seem to be the second most popular around those parts. Granted, they are not going to have as good of a team as they would with the Phillies. While the Barons were not able to win the Governor's cup, they had a pretty good team in most years, where the Yankees put a good team together about once every four or five years.

True,but the Clips-while affiliated with the Yankees-DID field 7 Governor's Cup champions(1979-81,1987,1991-92 and 1996). This,mind you,was before Buffalo rejoined the IL.
