The guy played has played strong safety, cornerback, nickel back, quarterback, returned punts, punted, held for the field goal kicker and played safety on the kickoff coverage teams.

He had 18 career INTs.

In the Emerald Bowl, he helped hold Calvin Johnson to 2 catches for 19 yards.

I'm not gonna sit here and say this guy is gonna be our starting corner of the future. But I think you plug him in at nickel or a dime package, along with his special team value, he would be an impact player for this team. Plus, the guy seems to have his head on straight as he is a married man.

With one of our 3rd or 4th round picks, I suggest we just draft a ball player. Regardless of his tangibles.

Ran 4.49/4.50 at the combine. Thats not bad.

Weddle has been a standout throughout his career, earning conference honors of some kind each year. His senior season, however, provides a quick glimpse of his versatility. On defense, Weddle was fourth on the team in tackles, had seven interceptions, returning two for touchdowns, and had two fumble recoveries, returning another for a touchdown. On offense, he ran for five touchdowns and threw for another.

Here's an interesting quote.
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/draft/2007-03-21-sw-defensive-backs_N.htm
6. Eric Weddle, Utah, 5-11, 203: Some scouts think Weddle is the best athlete in this draft. He has the speed, quickness and instinctive ability to play any defensive back position. In addition to cornerback and safety, he played quarterback, running back, holder, punt returner and kick returner and was on punt- and kickoff-coverage teams. He snared 18 interceptions with the Utes.

The article covers most of the Top DBs

NFL draft countdown has the Poz and Leonard going to the Pats, and now someone has Weddle going to the Pats...

What next?

Clifton Ryan ends up playing DE for them in their 3-4?

That would hurt as bad as the Jets stacking their o-line last year.
