I grew up thinking about the US as a democracy, but it seems I have been wrong, because not the people choose the rulers, but, as U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris puts it:

Separation of church and state is "a lie we have been told," Harris said in the interview, published Thursday, saying separating religion and politics is "wrong because God is the one who chooses our rulers."

I think the separation of Katherine Harris and brain matter is a fact, though.

Years from now, scholars will determine that the influence of the Christian right on the American government was way less than you guys think.

:guy: :guy:

Now that is funny.

Do you imagine the reaction I would have gotten if I replaced crucifix with that 8 candle Jewish symbol?

Why is that?

Why is there a Jewish Defence League, but NO Roman Catholic Defence League?

Hmmmm.....
