vs Tenn
-Gets from Sideline to sideline really well
-Really worked on shedding blocks in the offseason
-One concern is that he may rely to much on his speed. He sometimes miss steps but makes up for it w/ great recovery speed.
-Takes great angles

Speed seems to be the way Marv wants to go.
How high in the draft would you project him to go?

DT M.Thomas is a beast but w/ off the field issues I imagine the Bills wont look at him
Siler has trouble engaging sometimes but is pretty good in pass coverage and is a class room guy much like in the mold of Whitner which is why I think the Bills will be high on him
Another MLB to look at is D.Harris from Mich. Good run stopper but might be a concern in the pass covergae area. Hes a gamer though
After that there is a drop off
Watching the game against Auburn, in the 4th quarter when the game was tight, I saw Siler make three terrific plays almost right in a row.
One was a great open field tackle.
One was pressure on the QB that altered the throw.
One was knocking down a pass in coverage.
I was watching with several Gator fans who (obviously biased) really raved about him even before that.

I really like Siler.
IMO one of the Bills' top priority this offseason should be drafting a MLB that can cover and tackle sideline to sideline, in the Urlacher mold. Yeah I know everyone in the league wants one of those, but where the Bills are drafting they will have an excellent chance to get the top MLB in college football.
I'm not saying that Siler is that guy, maybe he is.
What do you think of the need and whether Siler fits the bill (no oun intended)?

I think Siler would be an ideal MLB for the cover 2 scheme b/c of his speed and his ability to drop into coverage. Hes also a very intelligent player which seems to be very high on the Bills priority list, so if he declares I would expect the Bills to be very interested in him. The one thing that would worry you about Siler is that he really isnt a monster against the run especially when you run right at him. Hes good on sweeps and anything outside the Tackles b/c he can use his speed and his ability to take great angles to get at the RB. When he gets locked onto though he has trouble shedding the block. He has gotten better at it but still needs improvment

In 2005, Siler started every game at middle linebacker. He finished second on the team with 64 tackles (33 solos), produced nine stops behind the line of scrimmage, four sacks and three pressures. He deflected four passes and set a school single-season record and led the conference with seven fumble recoveries. He also garnered Academic All-District III accolades.
A member of the school's Leadership Committee, Siler started the 13 games he appeared in during the 2006 season, sitting out vs. Western Carolina with a knee injury. He earned All-SEC second-team honors from the league's coaches as he ranked second on the team with 77 tackles (55 solos). He posted three sacks, three pressures and 10 stops for losses, and caused and recovered one fumble.
Very intelligent athlete who makes all the calls and sees the plays develop well, as he is quick to adjust … Very coachable, team-first player who is like a coach on the field due to his good grasp of the playbook and all of his teammates' assignments … One of the hardest workers on the team and takes a very business-like approach both on and off the field
He's on my list of players I'd like. (I'd need about 15 day one picks)

Siler is probably a 4th round pick or later now. His combine and pro-day workouts were not as good as expected.
SportingNews War Room has him listed as the 11th MLB and says his weaknesses are that he is a straight-line athlete with little agility and that he has trouble in pass defense.
They project him as a late round pick.

Nfl Draft Scouts Rankings on Foxsports. Have him 2nd among ILBS.

If we miss on Willis, I wouldn't mind seeing him taken in the 3rd round . . even if it's our first one. If we get Willis, I'd still like to see us grab Siler, but wait until the 2nd third rounder, or fourth.
I've seen a lot of his games . . I hate Florida . . just throwing it out there, but he definitely STOOD out on their defense. And that's really saying something.

I think he's on the radar of late-first round teams considering LB.

Siler is one of my favorite LB's, if my my sole favorite, in this draft. I talked him up a lot this passed college season because the guy is scary good.
