WASHINGTON, Aug. 14 — After being outmaneuvered in the politics of national security in the last two elections, Democrats say they are determined not to cede the issue this year and are working to cast President Bush as having diminished the nation’s safety.

“They are not Swift boating us on security,” said Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the Democratic leader in the House.

Seeking to counter White House efforts to turn the reported terrorist plot in Britain to Republican advantage, Democrats are using the arrests of the suspects to try to show Americans how the war in Iraq has fueled Islamic radicalism and distracted Mr. Bush and the Republican Congress from shoring up security at home. They say they intend to drive that message home as the nation observes the coming anniversaries of Hurricane Katrina and the Sept. 11 attacks.

a very valid criticism

two things to determine:

a. can the dems possibly **** this one up like they have the last two elections? the first was a silver platter setup, the second was gold platter, and this one is studded with diamonds. based on recent history, im predicting they splatter it all over themselves again. theyve already spilled the jew soup, lets see if they can avoid dumping the rest of the goodies

b. can we possibly be ****ing dumb enough to fall for Roveanetics® yet again. you people were completely punked the last two times around. if we have any ****ing brains at all we will ignore the tricks that fat traitor bastard is going to pull on you people and actually punish them for trying to use them again. dont embarrass the country another time please

Let's see ... the Dems have EXACTLY 12 weeks from today to wipe out their track record and try to convince everyone that they've been balls-out for security since Day One.

Hmm.

They won't Swift Boat us wow that's a good plan.
They don't have a single plan to improve security at home.
Their plan is blame Bush that's about as lame as it gets.
They won't have to Swift Boat you guys.
Because you do it to yourselves every day.
Being outmaneuvered isn't your problem.
It's the total package of nothing you offer.

Hmm.

I would love to see the attempt though. They cannot use their oft attempted strategy of promoting (x) into a crisis state and then offering (y) as a solution [healthcare for example]

Promoting security as a crisis all of a sudden promotes the GOP ticket and vision.

We don't have to. We're fine. We've been fine since before 9-11. Military and leadership blunders are our problem.

That is good enough for your party but not the country.
They are not gonna buy we were all right.

Your statements are above.

These are ok for you.
But I'm saying this won't sell nationally.

Try and tell this to a prospective voter.

Exactly.

Its not the methods, the equipment, and the procedure....it the people executing the exercises....

Well, he's not my brother in the biological sense ... which is good for him, because if we were related, everyone would remind him that I got all the good looks in the family.

Nehemiah's my brother in a Range sense -- just like you and Pete and Shiva and WXP and [shudder] Chimp and everyone else is.

Plus, Nehemiah lets me get away with giving him verbal noogies and figurative Indian burns. You can't get more brotherly than that.

Since Americans are a nation of cowards, of course their own security is issue #1.

I'm sure the Republicans "Propaganda of Fear Campaign" will win out again.

What do you expect from segments of the population who can watch race cars turn only left for over 3 hours on a Sunday?
