Aug. 21-28, 2006 issue - Joe Lieberman awoke last Wednesday with few prospects and no party. He'd lost the Democratic primary for his own Senate seat to challenger Ned Lamont and the army of "Netroots" Internet activists who'd hammered Lieberman's stubborn defense of the Iraq war. Even some of his friends thought his announced independent candidacy would be a sad and solitary quest.

But then came Thursday, with chilling news of a terror plot in Great Britain, and suddenly it was clear that Lieberman would not go gently. "If we just pick up like Ned Lamont wants us to do," he warned a campaign crowd, "get out by a date certain, it will be taken as a tremendous victory by the same people who wanted to blow up these planes." Hawkish Joe was back: early polls showed him leading Lamont in the general election.

To insinuate that Lamont would be any less of a man in defending this country is tantamount to saying that Tinky Winky is to blame for buying ugly purses.
Insane.

yeah everybody loved marangi too until he got the call to play when it counted
lamont represents the extreme over reaction pendulum swing that will put us in just as bad a partisan jerk fest as the king has for the past half decade plus
lieberman is a quality senator and the country needs people like him right now more than ever. if the democrats reject him in this way i believe they will regret it

Don't remind me of her :( Nope the state of Missouri is proof that machine politics still exist. We have two political families that pretty much run the state in one way or another. In the DNC its the Carnahan clan and for the GOP its the Blunt family.

Question, Coastal: What has Lamont done or said so far that would indicate he had any spine to stand up to terrorism?
Please show me that he knows any direction other than reverse.

Rob, please give us some evidence that Ned does not have the spine to "stand up to terrorism". I assume you are probably talking about him wanting out of Iraq, which has nothing to do with anything....

Here's Ned Lamont's OWN website. Listed are the issues of concern to him ... do you see "terrorism" listed anywehre? the only thing that comes close are the Iraq War and "Situation in the Middle East."
He can't even bring himself to admit terrorism is an issue worthy of its own study -- and he wants to represent a state heavily tied to New York City AKA Target #1.

the wingnut jackass who turned in his own sister in law for joking about killing the president and ruined her life
at first he was bragging about it then when he saw the consequences he disappeared. he came back for a while but the humiliation got to him and he dropped out again. there were rumors he himself came under scrutiny from the ss but i dont know if thats true or not
it possible he reregistered under a different name but i think i would recognize his lunatic wingnut logic
