Was this supposed to be funny?

Republican humor is strange.

Death of innocents is not funny one goddamned bit. That is not what I am laughing at.

What I am laughing at is the outrage against the Israelis and not a tear shed for Israeli cities shelled by Hezbollah.

Is that sick?

I make it a point to never root against a team that suffers casualties at 10 to 1 disadvantage. They got guts.

Ho Chi Minh told Chinese official Cho Enlai that they would defeat the Americans. Enlai commented, but you are suffering casualties at a ratio of 7 to 1. Minh said, it can go to 10 to 1 (which it did) or 20 to 1, we will win. Enlai asked why. Minh said, because we have no where else to go. Eventually, the Americans will get tired and go home, just like the French, just like the Japanese, just like the Chinese. They always go home, and we win.

Yep. And the Israelis have no where to go.

I wouldn't pick a team just because their battiing average sucks. Hezbollah wanted a fight and they got one. It is their fault they are cowardly and hiding in populations.

The Israelis could go back to Europe.

I just heard that tonight on tv about Minh did you?
I think it was Ollie North On Fox's War Stories.
Is that where you heard it.
Hezbollah is not a team they are terrorists it's not a game.
The innocent civilians being killed is tragic.
But as far as members of Hezbollah.
I hope they are eliminated.
What redeeming qualities do they have?

Read up on the UN division of Israel and Palestine. Israel agreed. The whole damnned arab world didn't and attacked.

They are not going anywhere. The Jericho Doctrine Aqua. The Jericho Doctrine.

If WWIII happens that will trigger it. And that scares the crap out of me.

Of course Israel agreed. Jews wanted a homeland, arabs wanted to keep their land.

If two thousand years from now a bunch of Chinese came over here, carved up the US against our will and gave some of the land back to a lost tribe of wandering Cherokee, we would want to fight them over that. And we would probably fight until they left.

Don't worry about WW III, you are too old to fight in it. Besides, neither fatalism nor eschatological thinking become you.

God it goes back so far (2000 BC) that you don't know who ultimately started it. But I think the jews wanted a pound of flesh for the massacres of the great arab expansion of the 7th century. Destruction of the temple didn't tickle them either.

Either way their is no virtuous dog in this fight. Both histories are stained. These two religions just don't like each other.

Like The Hatfields and The McCoys on nitromethane.

Who cares about the cities........buildings, homes?

Why don't you try to count deaths, and then get back to me Pete.

Also look up women and children deaths, and compare those numbers too.

Neither one is too thrilled with christians either, remember.

That is why I think no one wins a war. Fighting starts when people get tired of talking and thinking.

I will give Israel this. Often when she attacks she forewarns civilians to evacuate.

How about Hezbollah? Ohh yeah, my Israeli friend Shimon once told me that in Tel Aviv he once saw a beat up 72' Ford Thunderbird with a big ass horn speaker on it (Think Blues Brothers) crawling down the street announcing:

"Attention. This is the Voice of The Peace Loving People of Hezbollah. We and our allies Hamas announce that in 10 minutes the Schlomo Cafe will be bombed. Please evacuate immediately".

Guess where Shimon was? He finished his bagel and scadaddled!

That's the point. It's not funny. I am still wondering why there is not a peep about Hezbollah shelling Israeli border cities.

I'm not saying that ann Israeli life is worth more than a Lebanese life. It is not. Just like a US GIs life was not worth more than a French civilians life in WWII. But it happend. And a hell of a lot more than anyone thinks. 15,000 on the Normandy front alone. But the US, England, and Canada were chasing out a monster.

Thank God those poor Hezbollites are armed with 27,000 short- and medium-range missiles to protect themselves from the diabolical farmers and fruitgrowers in northern Israel.
