It's almost like the Sunni's and the Shia's, where their common interest is hatred toward America and Israel.

The Dems and Republicans common goal is milking the country to benefit their party.

Bush is a uniter, just like Clinton. Let's meet in the middle.

The post has nothing to do with the title, but if you are looking for a time when the parties were so divided then try the Civil War, or for the southrons round bout here The War Between the States.

In Mississippi, it is still called the War of Northern Aggression; at least to my relatives.

That is so true. But the insidious part is that there is more to it than that.

They just took slavery off the legal books about a decade ago.

So we are in agreement..

It's time for a change IMO..

For America to win the war on terror we all need to be on the same page..

Eliminate the party system, and istall a secular government. A secular government we can all agree on..

A government in which the leader makes the decision because he believes in it not his party...

The leader I am talking about is

We can't win the war on terror the way we are trying, I think. You can't fight guerrilla wars with tanks and bombers. Look at what Israel just tried. He had a free hand for a month and bombing and tanks does not work. They did not want to go street to street for the cost of their troops lives.

That was a microcosm of our war on terror. I bet our politicians learn nothing from it. And the poor military can't convince anyone about the best way to fight. They just have to do as they are ordered.

I'll tell you this though, your picture makes me think you are right and that Leiberman will run for president as the moderate who appeals to both parties. The thing McCain never did.

hmmm interesting but a moderate has little chance of winning.

Have a little faith. Bush ran as uniter, not a divider. He was elected twice.

He might get my vote. Not radical left enough for some though.

Please don't vote for him. He just proved he is a selfish ***** by not ceding to the will of his own voters.

And before you get going on that, he is smart enough to know that you should not stick to your guns if you will not get re-elected. You stick to your guns when you are four years away from an election, or three years, or two years. Voters have short memories, but not that short.

I really think he thought he was bullet-proof being a senator where there is a 99% re-election rate for incumbents and he just erred. Well, time to pay that bill.

Be a man and walk away. Don't piss up the party's leg because you were too stupid to read the polling data in your own state.

nope sorry

he didnt cede to the will of the DEMOCRAT voters

if he can get enough republican votes (and those dems with a guilty conscience who wake the hell up and smell the damned coffee) then god bless him

joe is a good american and the country is better off with him serving us. its due to only the ****ed up priorities of party loyalty that people cannot see that

hey i want to strike back hard against this utterly failed administration and woefully inferior worldview the wingnuts have heaped upon us. but this is not at all the right way to do it

remember: despite what we have witnessed the last six years, governing while republican is not necessarily a crime. there are good republicans with good republican ideas, their votes count just as validly. dont throw the baby out with the wingnut fatigue bathwater

:erm: how do you mean get rid of party system? Do you mean founding father style no party system where you just elect the best people for the job, or do you mean the Nazi or Soviet Communist "we are the government and we don't give a shit what those who disagree with us want" no party system? As for Lieberman being a good choice to run the country, well I would not vote for him.

Wrong, in 2000 he was appointed by the supreme court in a less than democratic fashion. Al Gore won the popular vote. Technically speaking, the people only elected him once.
