Paul O'Neill is my favorite player of all-time. He is eligible for the Hall of Fame next year.
I was just wondering honest opinions on whether or not he will/should get in
I'd take him over roid boys McGuire and Canscco.
Any thoughts?

Yes Paul is eligable for HOF, and I hope he does make it, as for the other 2 they deserve nothing...

Cals a lock and McGwire will probably get in. Give him a few years.

No he won't make it and he shouldn't. He falls into the category of being a good player, just not an all time great. His numbers just don't merit a spot in the HOF IMO.

He will eventually during a weak year he just won't be a first ballot.

Heck,it took Bruce Sutter 13 tries to get in.
Here's how I think the HOF process will play out next year:
Locks: Cal Jr. & Gwynn
Maybes: O'Neill,Fernandez,Saberhagen,McGwire

Paul was known as the heart and soul of the Yanks during their most recent sucesses...even more than Jeter. That should count for something, but it might not count for ballots for the HOF....yet.

I think its a little less than 50/50 for him to get in
Hes one of my all time favs but being realistic about it hes def not a first ballot HOF

I don't see him as a HOFer. .288 average with 281 homeruns and 1269 rbis is an all star, not a HOFer, especially if the likes of Mattingly and Keith Hernandez haven't made it yet.
Not to take anything away from him, but using baseball-reference.com, it shows that the player with the most similar stats is bobby bonilla, again not supporting a case for him being inducted.

Oldest player in MLB history to steal 20 bases and hit 20 homers in 2001.

Isn't Dawson still NOT in? He was way more prolific than O'Neill.

Paulie is a no-go, unless all voters are also "Warriors". McGwire is looking like a longshot, from writers I've seen. And I doubt old-schoolers are too happy about him joining them.
