Gentlemen, please attack the post not the poster. This forum is a great place for adults to discuss the pressing issues of the day. However, intellectual discourse is slowly degenerating into adolescent name calling.
The mods in this forum absolutely do not wish to censure debate, but we will take action if the personal attacks continue.

Interesting that you never hear of America or Israel or any other "Western" nation using observers as shields.
I'd like to hear mroe on this before deciding whether it's true or not, but I'm curious - is it so hard to believe that unconventional fighters would do something like this?

nteresting that you never hear of America or Israel or any other "Western" nation using observers as shields.
Why would you have heard of something like that. Like DUH the armies of those nations are traditional advanced units not a guerilla type force.

Thats because we know the UN doesn't protect shit. Just ask the Bosnians, the Rwandans, the Congolese, the Sudanese... The 3rd World is rapidly realizing this shortcoming.

The 3rd World is rapidly realizing this shortcoming.Canadian General Delaire begged kofi for troops to raid the warehouses where the weapons used in the slaughter were being kept. Kofi said no,shortly after that 200,000 died.

This is such bullshit.
I guess it was too difficult for the Israelis to give them a call and tell them to get out.

I guess it was too difficult for the Israelis to give them a call and tell them to get out.Yes it is ,if the Isrealis told them to get out and they did ,they would be charged with desertion, only the UN could give that order and they did'nt. Why? Because kofi wanted something like that to happen. You don't think it is funny that minutes after it happened kofi was blaming the Isrealis without even knowing what happened.

wow a rare flash of brilliance from the resident monkey. Anyways their usage of peace keepers as shields is despicable and cannot win them friends in the international community.

Obviously the west uses "traditional advanced units" (whatever that term means). DUH. The question is, why should we give any respect at all to the sides in a fight who use non-combatants as shields / cover / distraction?
I mean, it's actually a pretty nifty tactic, if you don't mind fighting dirty.
