My ride into NYC for a meeting in the Financial district friday gave me the creeps. Meaning at every Path train stop there were Police officers armed with rifles and machine guns. This will continue through out the rest of the year. Commuters and people traveling to NYC have to think that this train ride could end my life.I wouldn't be too concerned, it's just a show of force. One of my friends is in the Army reserves and did a two week stint in NYC after the London train bombings. The M-16's look scary don't they? The thing is, most of them are not loaded.

There were four peculiar looking gentleman taking pictures of the dam at the Green Mountain Reseviour recently and were noticed by a local resident. She took pictures of them when they returned a second time and reported to police, no arrests were made, but they are on the radar.

If that dam was blown, it would flood three western Colorado cities and contaminate the water supply of countless others.

If bin Laden wanted to create REAL havoc all he has to do is detonate a few small bombs at shopping malls in small towns and the economy would dive into a tailspin.

What this whole “war on terror” has shown me is that America is full of a bunch of scared babies.

I lived in England for a school year during the height of the IRA bombings where the favorite method was placing a bomb filled with nails at bus stops and other public places.

The English took it in stride and took common sense precautions. Eventually the dispute was settled politically….something that the US will have to do eventually.
