Any Wes Anderson fans? Everybody has that one movie they can watch over an over and never get sick of. Mine is "The life Aquatic." Start to finish probably between 50 and 60 times. Awesome awesome flick.

I think I need to re-watch "The Life Aquatic", it didn't do it for me the 1st time. Rushmore and Royal are both hilarious though.

Dude, thank God you posted this.

Not only do I own every Wes Anderson movie, I own every Wes Anderson soundtrack, which are always spectacular.

The nice thing about Anderson is that he keeps getting more & more involved with creating his own "world" in each movie.

Bottle Rocket was very character based.

To an extent, so was Rushmore.

But in Royal Tenenbaums & Life Aquatic, he literally created his own worlds. To a point where you almost get lost in the fantasy he creates.

Not only that, but all of Bill Murray's best roles -- sans his 80's body of work -- have been in Anderson's movies. Sans Lost in Translation.

The best director of our times is probably Wes Anderson, but it's very close in regard to the Coen Bros.

Awesome thread, man.

haha. I missed your post Joe. That's awesome. I came in here looking for an old thread on bittorrent and happened to see you had posted.

But yeah, all of his movies are very polarizing it seems like. You either love them or hate them. I've tried to pass them on to family and friends and usually don't get back the enthusiastic response i'm expecting. I'm pretty sure it's the guy from Devo that does the composing for the movies. The back beat for the rescue scene in "Life Aquatic" is ****ing wicked. But the black dude doing the David Bowie songs in French is absolutely perfect. Whenever i finish watching it i'm walking around for two days muttering Rebel Rebel in indistinguishable french. :)

LOL!

Somehow, not knowing the language never stops me from singing that shit either.

And you're right, the composer is Mark Mothersbaugh -- former lead singer of Devo. He does really nice shit in all Wes Anderson's movies.

I was really stoked that Anderson finally included a Devo song in Life Aquatic. Gut Feeling during the training montage is awesome.

Glad to see another son of a bitch likes his movies.

By the way, he's got a new one coming out later this year.

The Fantasitc Mr. Fox, which is currently in post production.

Can't wait.

Pelé dos Santos is the name of the guy, and I'm pretty sure he sings in Portugese, because he is a Brazilian musician.
