Who should wear the C? The A's?

Briere can have an A. As for the other, it's up in the air.

Hecht maybe? He has worn it for a few games in the past...

I dont think Drury likes being the C. You would think Drury because he gives his all and is one of the leaders, but he strikes me as a leader by example, which is good, but IMO, he would rather not be the C.

We're in the lucky position to have 2 captains on our team, I can't name another team with 2 guys who would be a captain on just about any other team. I think Briere is a captain, he reminds me of Barnes as a captain, and with all the comparisons to Lafontaine he even started to look a little like Lafontaine physically to me. I believe Briere is a combination of what Barnes gave us with a little of Lafontaine mixed in. Make no mistake, Pat is a Hall of Fame player and easily the best offensive Sabre of our time, but if Briere is headed for similar pastures he is a great leader. Drury is also worthy of the C, but I just think Briere is a better locker room leader, but Drury is right behind him. I wouldn't be disappointed if Drury got the C full time over Briere, I'd just be shocked if niether guy was chosen and someone else got it. In all likelihood they will just continue to rotate the C between them unless one of them concedes it full time to the other. Those 2 are the face of the Sabres, I wish we could clone them, of perhaps splice them genetically and create a super Sabre, lol. If we had more Drurys and Brieres on the ice we could win a Cup every year.

Yeah I would stick with the alternating system just because it would really be a smack in the face for either Drury or Briere. I agree with Sabres224 with Mckee gone Teppo should be given the "A"

Seriously, we did lose a lot of big time leadership. But with the guys we have now, Drury is the captain without a doubt. He is a quiet leader like Yzerman and he just wins no matter where he is. As for the As, I really not sure. They aren't a lot of guys who really strike me as leaders right now. Not really a fan of Briere when he dives but I guess he derserves and A. As for the other one, I would give one to Miller. He definitely seems like a big time leader. But goalies don't get one so it is between the Goose and Teppo. The A is point in the center of the ice, and they fight it out. Whoever wins is our new assistant. :birthday:

I think Teppo gets the A over Hecht simply because of his experience. If after this season is over and we win the Cup, if Numminen retires, then Jochen can have that A.
