The Hurricanes and RFA Erik Cole have agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal. (Could this be relevant in the Sabres' talks with Briere?)

And for those thinking Biron is going to Detroit, it could be time to think again. Ed Belfour is visiting there today, and preliminary talks have taken place between the organization and Dominik Hasek.

Belfour and Hasek? To paraphrase Dick Vitale, sounds like Detroit could have a couple of Depends Dandies manning the pipes.

I wouldn't worry about Belfour signing anywhere. The guy sucks. The scary thing is the NE division is going to be a bear next year. Would have been this year had Belfour not tanked Tonto's season.

Ottawa should be better. They lost Hasek, Chara and Pothier, but added Corvo and Gerber.

Montreal just seems to have our number for some reason. Against everyone else they're mediocre.

Toronto? Hah, they paid huge jack to Kubina and he will be an upgrade; their other moves are a Laff: Raycroft? Gill? McCabe for $25M? Do they have any money left for any forwards?

Bruins: They don't scare me. No depth. Chara and Jurcina, no more Boynton, and still on the hook for most of the idiotic signings they made last year, and they're still throwing contracts around like confetti. Hey, it failed once, let's try it again.

Pfft. It'll still come down to Ottawa winning the division and choking in the playoffs. Sabres would do well to position themselves 4th in the conference again.

Sounds like Detroit is interested in Biron. Sounds like they are trying to show the Sabres that they can get a goalie elsewhere. See who blinks first. No team can possibly be dumb enough to take on Belfour or Hasek at this point and expect them to take them to the cup.

Belfour or Hasek for half of Biron's salary while they hold onto Osgood, I say Detroit stays away from Marty.

Ok, first off how do you lose Chara,Pothier and Hasek,sign Gerber and Corvo and get better?...oh yea you don't, Hasek got them to where they were last year, without him look what happened, Ottawa isnt as good as last year.

Ummm no, we beat them 5 times last season, every game was close last season, except for the one in Buffalo where Briere owned Souray, and they've done nothing except resign Huet who will turn out to be a bust, they're aging, Kovavlev,Koivu,Souray arent getting any younger, they shouldnt be that great next season.

Offensively they look to be good with Nash/Zherdev/Modin/Fedorov, but i think their too weak defenseively and with leclaire being as young as he is, nashville will take that division.
