Hey all, i was watchin the News tonight here in Buffalo and they were talking about the Teppo signing, and also had Darcy talk about it, and said that they have made offers to free agent defenseman....ne one have ne idea as to who they could have offered, which decent d-men r still available and such...i was happy to hear this tho! Let me kno what ya all think!

I'd think Jaroslav Spacek would be the guy Darcy might've talked to among the remaining UFA defensemen. He'd fit pretty well with our team and might not cost us a fortune. I'd say he'd be a $2.5 million guy, which is costly for our team, but considered low balling by the big dumb rich clubs severely overpaying guys. With Spacek assuming we resign the remaining RFAs and Janik, and no surprise trade occurs, our defense looks solid.

I wouldn't rule out an offer sheet to a cap-tight team's RFA.

I would bet Darcy called Kubina, Poapst, Wallin, Ward, ect. Not real big names but still decent defenseman.

Stealing some RFA's from these cap bloated clubs would be a very interesting move. Darcy could get some promising, solid talent for not much. A lot of these teams are spending to the cap and only have like 4 million dollars to sign 5 players.

The Blues have spent and Brewer is RFA. A swap for Afinogenov or even Jochen would be wise.

Why would you want to trade Jochen???

He was arguably the MVP of the team last year. That would make no sense at all. Afinogenov maybe, but certainly not Hecht.
