Only 2 people have reportedly been injured. A Tractor trailer was thrown around on the 90 by the Galleria...traffic is very slow...storms seem to be far south now.

I saw it. I work for a company inside the home depot. I was on my way back from lunch. I was at the light on galleria drive and walden. I saw the spout, i saw it start i saw it come from behind subway and kill that office trailer. I've seen alot of crap....but that was def. nerveracking.

I missed all the excitment around here. I was at work in Akron, and we got like a five minute shower and that is about it. I was shocked when 97 Rock started reporting there was a tornado on Walden. I guess it depended on where you were as to how bad things were.

We got some rain on the Island, it seems like whenever something severe happens the clouds split and miss the Island, that blizzard from a few years ago missed too, we got 0 snow when others got like 3 feet

Tornado of the day was the word when I lived in Tampa.
Yeah they suck, especially when I got hit by one in Tampa in 1994. Pushed my car off the road sideways, lifted it up 2 feet and into a ditch while I was in it. Scared the shit out of me and I am not embarassed to admit it.

I've still never seen one up close, even after living in Tornado Alley all these years. (I've seen a few overhead, but not a touchdown).
Its the 40th anniversary of the Big One that hit this city in '66. It was before the Fujita scale, but the guys who developed the scale said it was definitely an F5. Tore apart hundreds of homes and hundreds of buildings. They found law books from the law school library 80 miles away.
Bill Curtis of CBS was a law student at the time, and a part time weather man for a local affiliate. He got his national start by reporting on the tornado, and his famous words, "For God's sake, take cover".

I don't know what hit me but anything more than an F1-F2 probably would have killed me.
