As per the ticker on NLL.com New York City had been awarded a franchise to begin play in the 07' season. It will be interesting to see how the divisions line up. As well as having 2 teams in the expansion draft now.....Hope it works out.

Well, we should get alteast one of the teams in the East so heopfully that'd be a few more wins. It'll just limit our games against the West now for sure, which I dont know how much i'd like that.

Shock
Riptide

New York Knights was already used as a baseball team in the Natural. Riptide is used by an MLL team in LA.

Didnt know about the Knights.

As for Riptide, I knew it sounded firmiliar, I forgot about the LA team. Im running out of ideas, my lack of creativity on new team names is a problem.

You've never seen The Natural? Most of it was shot in Buffalo, with the rockpile being used for the Knights home. I thought everyone in Buffalo saw The Natural. You know it goes along with watching the Bills on Sunday, eating wings and drinking Blue.

Also, you couldn't use Knights as the new nickname...it's been used twice:

1991-92 World League of American Football
1998 Arena Football

Exactly.....It's a great movie no doubt. One of the best baseball movies next to field of dreams.

My father (Dockwalliper on here) worked on "The Natural." He was part of the crew, basically a go-pher guy like a lot of people were. He told me he's in the background of a crowd shot in the movie and he has a script from the movie. He even got to shake Robert Redford's hand I believe. Needless to say we own both the VSH and DVD, one of the all-time best baseball movies.

Actually that was 1988 for the Arena Football team. In 1998 the team was called the CityHawks.

Same with Eight Men Out, Major League, Field of Dreams, and The Sandlot.

Throw the Rookie on that list as well. I really loved that baseball movie.
