I'm sorry, but cannot back him. I just wish one of these tomato cans would pummel him so he doesn't get ideas he's good enough to take on any of the current Champs. They all stink, but are still 2 notches above Baby Joe. I just don't want him hurt. When something is your whole life though, hard to take that away from him. I admire his will.

Well Hurls, I don' think that there is anyone in the division that would destroy Joe at his best. Hopefully he can get back to his best.

Sorry I missed this. Glad to see him win again. Personally, I think he's crazy to continue, but as Hurls said, hard to stop when it's all you've worked for your entire life.

what a loser. He'll keep fighting bigger losers and win pocket change. He may even be a tomato can himself, for a real fighter. I think he'd be beaten by champs in weight classes 2-3 below heavyweight, he is that bad.

You have no idea what your talking about.Pre injury he was a top 5 heavyweight.Sorry, but it's true even though it's quite obvious your anti-Mesi (Anti-Buffalo too). This guy has beaten DaVarryl Williamson, Vasily Jirov, and Monte Barrett who are/were all top 10 guys at one point. You can't expect him to be off for 2 years and go fight the premier heavyweights, give him a year of tune up fights then crucify him if he is still fighting these type of boxers.

He was a paper top 5 HW at best. He would and will get his face smashed through the back of his head if stepped in the ring with real talent. I'm not anti-buffalo and i'm not anti-mesi it's just the obvious truth.

If you weren't from Buffalo, what would you say? Vanek is crap, so I don't care what you say if you idolize a no-defense weak player. As far as Mesi, he is a piece of CRAP!!! Never was, NEVER will be, and Never CAN be. Except if he's trying to be a shit boxer. Blam his injuries genius. They were suffered by a Lt Heavyweight at best. You're moron homers, and that's all there is to it. Watch HBO tonight. Either of these idiots would KILL Mesi.

TOP 5? What the hell are you smoking? Dumbest post ever. B4 injury, his Daddy was too scared to put him in a good fight, 'cuz he'd be exposed. I think I could kick his Dago ass.

HE may have been top 10 before the lay off but he has a long way to go to get back up there. He certainly didn't look dominant in that fight, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt seeing he hasn't been in the ring in such a long time.

Will he ever be a top heavy weight again? I'd have to say proboubly not, but he was a solid fighter before his injury. He was 10 pounds overweight in this fight but we'll see where he is at a year from now. I'm rooting for him.

And get benched in the biggest games of their lives also? Regular season means nothing, just as Mesi whipping up on nobodys and stand-ins, as this guy was. I don't think any of you even mentioned he fought someone that wasn't supposed to be in the ring that night. Wonder why you left that part out?

Because it doesn't matter?Mesi would have beaten the other guy also, Mesi is out of shape right now and still beating these scrubs.

Hurls I'd love to see you step into the ring with the tomato cans Mesi is fighting, let alone Joe himself. You'd probably end up crapping in your pants before the bell sounded.

As far as Mesi goes, he's terribly out of shape. I know he couldn't train, but that is no excuse to let yourself go the way he did. If he doesn't get his ass in shape one of these cream puffs he's fighting is going to land a good shot and Mesi's going down.

Dude, Joe Mesi was never a top 5 heavyweight.

I'm a fan of the guy but even after his KO of DeVarryl Williamson -- which insofar is the highlight of his career -- Mesi was considered a fringe top 10 fighter at best.

He barely pulled out a UD over Vassily Jirov (who's really best suited at cruiserweight) & somehow managed to get a MD over Monte Barrett (a guy who's decent but got exposed by Wladimir Klitschko & Hasim Rahman).

I can think of at least 10 heavyweights I listed higher than Mesi prior to his injury...

Vitali Klitschko
Wladimir Klitschko
Lamon Brewster
James Toney
Samuel Peter
Chris Byrd
Hasim Rahman
Calvin Brock
Luan Krasniqi
David Tua

We'll see how the comeback goes, but personally, I'd rather see him retire. It's just not worth the risk of being fatally injured.

PS -- For general boxing fans, watch out for Sergei Liakhovich & Calvin Brock in the heavyweight division. Those two are gonna be badass.

I agree with everyone of those except Tua and Brewster. I know you really like the guy, but from the bouts I've seen he's been terrible. The only impressive title defense was against Golata, but it was freaking Golata!

Yeah, Lamon Brewster isn't a real gifted boxer but he's got a nice punch & usually finds a dramatic way to win.

He was getting pounded against Wladimir Klitschko, yet won with a comeback KO.

He was getting pounded against Luan Krisniqi, yet won with a KO very late in the fight.

He got whooped by Sergei Liakhovich though.

If Joe Mesi does take on better fighters, I actually think he & Brewster would match up well. They're both one punch knockout artists.

I'd put Brewster a notch above Mesi at this point but it would be an interesting fight.

I guess Joe Mama comes in and names 10 better than Fag Joe ever will be, he's a genius. I've been saying it all along, I'm an idiot. Go eat shit you Joe Mesi carpetbaggers. You deserve a fate that he will soon reach, and I don't mean a belt.

Just 'cuz he's from Buffalo doesn't make him great. Wake up, shake the dust from your head, and drink a dose of reality for once losers. You guys act like you have money invested in the ass. Or do you?

Death in the ring is under rated. Think about it, you get to be a boxing legend for all time! No body remembers a loser, but everyone will remember the guy who died in the ring in the early 21st century.

ik but i dont understand the basis of the argument
im a psychology buff so i tend to analyze these things
is it projection of ones own tendancies to feel resentment or jealousy?

hmmmmmmmmm. time to sit in my thinking chair and write out the clues.
