Its a little less than 2 weeks away so I thought I'd Start a thread up

Heres a mock form SI. If it worked out this way and the Bulls landed O'Bryant at 16 and Aldridge at #2 I would be Ecstatic :)

1 F Andrea Bargnani Benetton Treviso (Italy) -- 6-10 240
Bryan Colangelo has always had an eye for offensive talent, and Bargnani has more scoring potential than almost anyone else in this draft. Colangelo has long demonstrated a deft touch in incorporating international players into his teams. Colangelo has made it plain that he will listen to all offers for the top pick. That doesn't mean he will trade it.

2 F LaMarcus Aldridge Texas So. 6-11 225
The Bulls badly need an offensive post presence. While Aldridge needs to gain weight and strength to maximize his fundamentally sound post game, he would immediately become Chicago's best low-post scoring option. If Chicago opts for Brandon Roy here, it will have to address its size needs in free agency or in a trade.

3 F Tyrus Thomas LSU Fr. 6-9 215
Don't tell Bernie Bickerstaff he already has Emeka Okafor and Sean May at power forward. This past season, when those two bigs were only part of an epidemic of injuries, proved you can never have enough talented big people. Thomas is the type of player who can run the lanes for Raymond Felton and Company.

4 G Brandon Roy Washington Sr. 6-5 210
The Blazers' squad that takes the floor next November will likely bear little resemblance to the one that finished this season. With that in mind, it's hard to say what Portland's biggest need is. Roy is a very solid all-around talent who can play right away on both ends of the court, adding stability to a franchise that sorely needs it.

5 G Marcus Williams Connecticut Jr. 6-3 180
The college game's most gifted playmaker, Williams has that innate point guard feel for the game, knowing how to distribute the ball to teammates through heavy congestion in the lane. As much as Hawks GM Billy Knight loves athletic swingmen, it's time he upgraded the point guard spot and fully maximized the talents of Joe Johnson and his other young scorers...............

With my top choice for the Rockets gone (Roy going 4 to the Blazers), I woulden't mind at all if we got Morrison. I don't think he will drop to 8, but if he does he gives us much needed size and shooting on the perimeter.

Also, I doubt Reddick will go that high, especially with his recent DWI.

I doubt Roy or Morrison will be there at 8. The guy who should be there that I would like to see us get is Ronnie Brewer. This guy already has an NBA type body at 6'7" and around 215 lb's. He is one of those athletic do it all types and his only knock is the form on his jump shot but I have seen highlights and it's not as bad as Marion's.

So here are my thoughts on what the Bulls are going to do w/ less than 10 days left

I think they have settled on LaMarcus Aldridge as the guy they want at #2. The problem is that I think Toronto has the same feeling and they are at #1.

So if LA gets picked w/ the first pick I think the Bulls then narrow there options to Brandon Roy and trading the pick. Alot of people have said the Bulls will take T.Thomas but I dont think they are as high on him as everyone thinks.

I look for the Bulls to aggresivly trade the pick if LA is not there. Its been said that the Lakers have offered L.Odem for it but I dont think the Bulls will just take Odem for it. R.Allens name has also been mentioned. The Problem w/ either of those players is that they eat up a bunch of the Bulls cap room and in the end I dont think they make either trade

So this leaves the Bulls w/ B.Roy who I think is there fall back option. He provides the Bulls w/ the size in the back court that they need and is a Bulls type player. So right now I think the Bulls are keeping the pick and if LA is off the board they are taking Roy.

W/ the 16th pick I think they are going to take the biggest body they can find. I Hope O'Bryant will be there but that is looking like a very long shot. I think the more realistic optons are Hilton Armstrong, Aaron Gray, Alexander Johnson, and Olexsiy Pecherov. None of them are really appealing but the Bulls need size down low and they have to get a young guy above 6-10 and then hope they can land a FA C. Of the names mentioned I think Armstrong is the guy they pick

Some draft rumors

-T.Thomas cancelled a workout w/ the Blazers b/c he said he had a promise from a top 3 team that he would be drafted

-There are a ton of trade rumors involving the Bulls. The list of names is pretty good. It includes K.G., J.O'Neal, S.Marion, L.Odem

-6 teams are rumored to be trying to move up for Morrison The six teams are Minnesota, Boston, Houston, Phoenix, Portland and Charlotte.

If Portland doesnt draft Morrison there will be another mini revolt..they are really not doing well here. The sad thing is they used to be the only thing people talked about in this town, the owner took it for granted.

Ford is nuts. Reddick wasen't a top 10 pick before his incident. Now he will probaly drop to the end of the 1st round. The Rockets will probaly have a chance to take him with the 32nd pick if they really wanted him.

Some more draft rumors

-The most likely trades for the Bulls right now are; Chandler and the 2nd for S.Marion or L.Odom and A.Bynum for Chandler and the 2nd. Of the 2 I would lean more towards the Laker deal but I wouldnt be dissapointed w/ the Suns deal either

-The Rockets are the team that seems the most serious about making the move up to grab Morrison

-The Magic are trying to move up for B.Roy

-Atlanta is said to be very interested in A.Iverson and so far Philly hasnt told them no way

-The Jazz are trying to move Boozer

Some draft News

-The Hawks and Rockets are working on a draft day deal. L.Head and the 8th for Atlantas 5th if Roy is there
http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=13744

-The Bulls have been reported to have it down to T.Thomas and L.Aldridge

-The Sonics and Suns are said to be close to a deal that would send S.Marion and there pick to Seattle for R.Lewis and there pick

Any predictions for tonight?

I think Bargnani will be the 1st pick and it looks like T.Thomas is going to the Bulls

W/ the Bulls 16th pick I think they will take the best player available or use it to try and trade back up into the top 10 or for a player

Merk

The Bulls nabbed T.Thomas and Thabo Sefolosha

I have to say I'm pretty happy w/ both picks especially Sefolosha. He is the big defensive shooting guard that the Bulls were in desperate need of. He's also good on the offensive side of the floor.

I like the Thomas pick in that many considered him the top pick and on the Bulls roster he will be given a chance to grow and wont need to start right away. He def adds alot of depth to an already deep roster but he also adds(along w/ Thabo) a great deal more of athletisism to the Bulls

In other News the Knicks continue to show why there in the spot that there in by picking Renaldo Balkman at 20. Nobody even had him in the 1st round and some didnt even think he would get drafted

Merk
June 28th, 2006, 10:38:55 PM
The Knicks second pick is Mardy Collins

According to ESPN and C.Ford Hes an un-athletic 6'6 combo guard that cant shoot. The Knicks are def in desperate need of another combo guard lololol

I.Thomas as a Bulls fan I would like to thank you for your draft selections :beers:

I like the move the Rockets made on draft day. It can't be offical till July, but we sent over the 8th pick (Rudy G@y) and Swift to the Grizz for Battier.

When I first heard the deal I was shocked and felt as if we overpaid, but after I calmed down a bit I began to realize that this is not a bad deal at all for the Rockets. As long as Ming and McGrady are on the court we are a playoff team. Battier is that must have 3rd option. He will relieve McGrady of gaurding the oppositions best perimeter player. In addition he can rebound, knock down the open three(38% in his carrier), and even steal and block for us (he has carrier averages of around 1pg in both categories).

G@y could become a great pro, but the Rockets don't have time to wait around for that to happen. Battier is a guy who is still in his prime and should be there for the next 5 years. Plus being a big time Duke fan this is the 1st Bluedevil my Rockets have gotten since I have been a fan and Battier is one of my all time favorite Bluedevil so that's an added plus.
