How about D-Wade last night?!?!?!

Talk about stepping up on the biggest stage, at the biggest time, in the biggest way. He completely took over that game... and refused to lose. A Jorden-esque type of performance. Scotty Pippen even said, "I swear I thought I was watching Micheal Jordan again"...

42 points & 13 rebounds. While in foul trouble, with a sinus infection, and with a hurt knee (Shaq rolled up on his leg, bending it backwards). And on top of that, 12 of his points came in the last 6 minutes... bringing the Heat back from a 13 deficit to win the game.

That ending was awesome... I couldn't believee the Payton shot either. What a comeback. I'd like to see anyone else in the league completely take over a 6.5 minute stretch.

He played great, but enough with the acting like he is dying every game routine. Basketball players are such pussies. Dallas really stunk in the first half, and Miami played as well as i have seen them play.

While I agree basketball players are pussies compared to football players... how did he act like he was dying? If you are talking about his knee... did you see it hyper-extend? And it wasnt like he was acting like a baby about it out there... he had a little limp, but he wasnt acting like a drama queen or nuttin?

it wasnt a bad hyperextension at all especially for a young flexible guy I have had worse... he was running on it just fine. He has a "little limp" almost every game. He is a bit of a drama queen but most basketball players seem to be not just compared to football players either

Maybe if the refs didn't let just under 4 seconds run off the clock during stop time in the last forty five seconds of the game - Dallas may have tied it up and taken the game into OT. Another 3.4 seconds on that last possession for Dallas could have made it easier to set up the fg.

“Upon review of Game 3 of the NBA Finals between Miami and Dallas, the NBA League Office has determined that the game timing system malfunctioned on two separate occasions in the fourth period. With 45.3 seconds remaining in the game, the clock continued to run for 2.5 seconds after a foul was called on Jason Terry of the Mavericks, and with 4.3 seconds remaining in the game, the clock continued to run for 0.9 seconds after a foul was called on Udonis Haslem of the Heat. In both cases, the cause of the problem was a malfunction in the electronic device worn by one of the game officials, which is designed to automatically stop the clock when the referee's whistle is blown.

“The NBA will replace the defective equipment for subsequent games of the Finals.”

Interesting Blue... where did you see that? Got a link?

Oh, and I really dont think it would have mattered anyway. Wade wasnt going to lose that game...

Um... to further update this thread... Dwyane Wade is amazing...

In a slump all game... then when the fourth quarter started we were losing... Wade steps up his game and emerges to take over the game. 17 points in the 4th quarter... with the shot to take it into overtime... and the 2 foul throws that tied the game... and then took the lead to win.

And this isnt like another regular playoff series... this is the Finals. Performing on this stage is on a whole nother level.

Wade is even better when defenders aren't allowed w/in 4 feet of him and he gets more respect than Michael Jordan did from refs.

He definatly doesnt get more respect than MJ. The rules are just different. And there is no one that deserves more thanks for that than Cuban himself.

Cuban about a couple weeks ago:"I've tried to make it more fun, but we've changed the rules around some," Cuban said. "I mean, the game got to a point where it really, it slowed down, and then they went through a whole set of rules changes, which really helped, and then these past couple years, I really got involved to outlaw all the handchecking and all the beating up of guys on the perimeter, so now the game's gotten a lot smoother, so you've got superstars like Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki who can take the ball to the hoop without all of that old Knicks ball, the old Pat Riley stuff, where they'd just beat up on people. So, we changed it up some."

Thanks Cuban! :D

I'm not trying to take anything away from your team but the difference in FTA's was ridiclous. Miami shot 72 more FTs for the series and in game's 3 and 5(2 Heat wins by a TOTAL of 3 pts) the heat shot 83 Fts while Dal shot 51. 32 more chances to get another point and they only won both games by a combined 3 pts and alot of that ahd to do w/ Wade not being or barely being touched and drawing the foul. Wade shot 97 FTs in the 6 games. In Jordan's last NBA Finals he shot 70 FTs in a 6 game series win over Utah in 1998 AND Jordan shot the ball 25 more times- you don't think he's being treated better than Jordan was?

First of all... the disparity isnt near as far apart as it appears. You need to subtract all of the intentional fouls. The Mavs used Hack-A-Shaq... which inflates the FTA alot. The strategy also put the Mavs in the penalty often which increased our FTA from our other players even more. Plus, the Mavs were intentionally fouling in the last minute some games that increased the FTAs as well.

The Heat definatly had more FTs and got some favorable calls... but it isnt near as far apart as it seems... and the raw numbers are overblown.

And like I said... When Jordon played... the rules were completely different. You could actually be physical and put your hand on a player. The league has changed alot since then. If Wade was playing back then he wouldnt have gotten half of the calls he got...

And also, if anyone else besides Harris on the Mavs played with some agressiveness... they would have gotten some more calls to close the gap as well. But they didnt... Avery even consistantly criticized them for it.

BTW... GO TAR HEELS!!! :D

i don't think they did it 70 times and what about Wade going to the line for 97 FTs?

And like I said... When Jordon played... the rules were completely different. You could actually be physical and put your hand on a player.

Why did Miami's star have 97 Fts while Dirk had only HAD 55? A 42 FTA difference btw the 2 star players is startling.

The league has changed alot since then. If Wade was playing back then he wouldnt have gotten half of the calls he got...

The league started calling the hand checking violations in the early 90s in response to the physical D's of teams like det and NY which sent scoring down so Jordan played when they called it like that. In 1998 against Utah he shot the ball 25 more times and took 27 less FTs than wade did in this series.

BTW... GO TAR HEELS!!!

That I agree with.:n4clapping:
