Bilderberg-bound filmmaker held at airport

Laura Payton, Ottawa Citizen
Published: Thursday, June 08, 2006

Canadian authorities detained an American activist filmmaker at the Ottawa airport late Wednesday night, confiscating his passport, camera equipment and most of his belongings.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada agents stopped Alex Jones, whose films include Martial Law 9/11: The Rise of the Police State, and questioned him for nearly four hours before letting him go with only one change of clothes and telling him to return Thursday morning.

“It’s really chilling, like a police state,” said Mr. Jones of his detention.

Mr. Jones and his crew, camera operators Ryan Schlickeisen and Aaron Dykes, travelled to Canada to film a documentary about the Bilderberg group, a secretive group of former politicians and business leaders who are meeting in Ottawa this week.

It may take two to tango, but only one is holding a gun and the keys to a jail cell.

“I want to say, on the record, it takes two to tango. I could have handled it better.”If he did not admit to being a problem child ,then I would be pissed. But when you act like a a$$ ,expect to be treated like one. So is he coming back to do a story on the big lefty thinktank meeting in quebec, the 20/20 group or whatever they call themselves?

The only time I ever got held up by US immigration was when I was flying Toronto-DC in 2000 with my wife and kids & had to change planes in Ottawa.

I was unemployed (for @ 3 weeks) at the time & the US Immigration dude didn't like that answer. I got questioned for @ 45 minutes, asked to see a supervisor, who immediately gave the counter dude a dirty look and told him to let me go.

Apparently you're not allowed to travel to the US without a yob, according to the ****ing redneck who held me up.
