Not calling it a night until you've had breakfast at the all-niter after being kicked out of the last bar at 4:15 am., and then having 8:00 am. pitchers at the local bowling alley to cap the "night".

Scum dogs, scummers, full dressers, Texas Red Hots, and shit canoes are just some of the names for the delicacy. In Texas, they call them Coney Island Dogs. In Philly, they probably just call them chili dogs or a King's yacht, in respect to Nehemiah.:D

Alright, Texas hots I understand. Been to Louie's at 11pm any number of times.We would go to Sammy's on Bailey and Kensington after work (Open 24 hours). I tended bar back then, so we were eating them at 6:00 A.M. There was a Louie's up the street and one on Bailey and Delavan. I don't know about the one on Delavan, but the other one is gone and so is Sammy's.

Nehe, where is Nestor's? When I visit, I'm in that area. Next time I'll check it out.

mighty taco, beef on weck, the sabres, GOOD pizza and wings, lake erie and ontario, the canal, holiday valley/ kissing bridge... whats not to like about buffalo

My Buffalo-area best list is:
(in no particular order)

1. Sabres! (Start off with a great meal/drinks in the Harbor Club with your friends)
2. Friday fish fry (I really miss this)
3. Happy Jack's (and a trip up the street to buy 222's)
4. real Italian dinner at Ilio DiPaolo's
5. Having a beer at Gabriel's Gate
6. Sunset Bay during the summer
7. Tailgate party for opening Bills game
8. Tim Horton's coffee (not to mention the chocolate walnut donuts--heaven!)
9. Chautauqua Lake in the summer (rocking on the Lenhart porch while drinking, playing pool at the Casino, Chautauqua Institute)
10. Broadway Market at Easter

But the best part of Buffalo is the people. I have not found another area where the people are so damn neighborly.

So much of what I miss has to do with the ethnic food and traditions. Here in Texas (and in Florida when I lived there) it was strip mall central. No mom and pop restaurants -- mostly chains. I want some real food made with love, not some package opened and reheated). We have a great melting pot of people and cultures in Buffalo. I miss that!
