i like my Nextel and my Sabres wallpaper, but I HATE their selection of ringtones...You'd think if Nextel advertises during hockey games they might have a ringtone or two associated with the NHL

Exactly - why pay for something you only "kinda" like? When you can get what you do want for free!

Never made one myself. I have a Windows Mobile PDA from Cingular...any certain trick to making one that will work?

it depends on the file format that your device will read. Mine will take a straight MP3, which I edit what I want to 30 seconds (how long it will take to go to VM), then upload via USB cable.
When I was on sprint, I had to convert it to a .qcp and upload it from my system to my phone via web.
I haven't had cingular in 4 years - they were still on MIDI's, and I used a ringmaker that was built into the phone and had manually put in the notes.
www.howardforums.com is like the mecca of cell phones. They have tons of info by carrier, by model, etc.

If your phone uses .MMF format(most Sony Erricsons do) then grab a program called "Media Audio Cutter". You can cut your MP3 down to 15-30secs... and then covert them to .MMF for your phone. Works like a champ. :niterider

Yes MR. Download file to your computer, then send it in an email to your phone. I had to send a message from my phone to my computer to get my phone's email addy, but I've just dl'd a few new ones today.

I know if you have a sprint phone, you can use what is called a Focus Uploader. It uploaded from computer and sent it to your phone. I still have the liks if anyone wants them
