With our defense battered, bruised, and watching from the press box how do you think we'll come out and play tonight?
Will the strategy be to play cautiously and try to make up for our D being depleated...or will we go balls to the wall, and try to keep the play far from out own end with an aggressive attack....
I know that we always tend to play aggressively, but will we back off or increase from the norm...
Conversely, will Carolina, being down in the series and knowing about our injuries, cough up the puck playing too aggressively on thier part...will the desparation of being down and the prospect of challenging young, untested defensemen lead to some odd-man rushes the other way.....
I think we'll rely on a forecheck early and often to help keep the pressure off the young guys....and if they play a sound positional game they may be able to turn the puck up ice for some Buffalo chances...Jillson in particular had a beautiful breakout pass on Wednesday...i would expect more of that tonight....

Aggressive and take the pressure off the blueliners.
Also, we may see some of the best backchecking all season by the forwards. Not having TC in the lineup will really hurt here - he was so good at the backcheck.
The one thing lacking in the first three games was a full commitment (60 min) to the backcheck. Something that was so prevalent in the first 2 rounds. The forwards know they need to help their guys out and this may kickstart the play by the guys up front to a new level.

I agree, they will man up tonight. This game is way to big, withthe added pressure of the injuries, I see a strong backcheck and some good odd man rushes.

If we were rolling into Carolina tonight I'd be much more worried. Having these changes take effect at home up 2-1 in the series is a whole lot better than having to get tonight's job done on the road.

I'm fine with Jillson...I think he knows his NHL career is on the line.
Janik didn't play enough for me to think less of him....
I don't think the outcome of this game is going to be because of these 2 guys, but the other guys playing around them....

With a 2-1 lead we have to go at them, espically at home!

One thing for sure: without Tallinder, even if they get a 4-1 lead, they won't hold it if they play like they played late-2nd/all-of-3rd. Not with this defense corps.

Emotion. This is why I was hoping Lindy would activate Mair and put the Gaustad, Mair Pyatt line together tonight. At times during this sason this line generated so much emotion and momentum change it was unreal. Just the thing I thought could carry this team tonight. I would throw that line out there every third shift and let them get the building rocking. That would feed the other three lines. If you remember Monday, it was the three consecutive bone jarring hits that really got to Carolina. Right after that shift the building was going berserk and the next three shifts exploded on them.

They don't play that good when they are trying to be defensive only. We need to come out and play aggressively.

I think we will to be agressive, and Carolina HAS to be agressive. If they give us a chance to settle down, we'll control the game.
