Hey guys.
This one's another thread to take our minds off Tallinder's arm.
Miller needs to be given a new contract. Mckee and Briere are UFAs. Does Regier have a good shot at signing all three, you think?
These 3 are the only ones I'm aware of. Any others?

Ummm...do we really need to talk about the offseason in the midst of the Eastern Conference Finals? We'll have four moths to discuss it after the Cup is raised.

The reason I brought it up is that on a local (Vancouver) radio show today, they were talking about "who's hot in hockey". Ray Ferraro (the same one who's on NBC and married to Cammi Granato) picked Briere as "who's hot in hockey." They proceeded to talk about how he's perfect for the new NHL etc...
Then they mentioned that he's UFA after this season. Ferraro thought that Buffalo wouldn't be able to re-sign him, and for a while now, they've talked about how the Canucks should sign him. That started the thought process.
If the Sabres win the cup, would he and the rest be available at the "winners' discount"? If the worst thing happens and they lose the round, would they be willing to stay together for less money and try again?
Just some thoughts.
Pax.

Of course they are talking about it in Vancouver...they aren't playing hockey!
Briere will stay put, you heard it here first.

Maybe if Briere finds out how good BC "Bud" is he will demand a trade before tomorrows game.

Briere is not a UFA. Grier, Numminen, and Fitzpatrick are.
Everyone except Vanek, Hecht, and Drury are RFAs.

I think Tampa Bay made it a hell of a lot harder for the Sabres to sign players. Almost 9 million a year for Richards??? Brad Richards???? He is a very good player but 9 million a year???? I thought the new NHL was suppose to have some fiscal sanity? .What the hell are the Bolts going to pay Lecavallier the next time his contract is up??

If I am not mistaken the cap goes up every year as well. Lecavallier just signed for 5 years. By then the cap is at a different level. If I am Vinny living in Tampa myself, I dont think he is happy right now. But he signed a 5 year deal!!!
Best part of new hockey!!!
Briere stays and Drury stays - they wont get 9 mill but Stanley Cup Champ raises the bar! But at the same time the player thinks hmmm be nice to stay here!! As mentioned home team discount.
Richards 9 - mill - little high in my opinion - go to Tampa games - man I dont know!! bad price bar to send to the league by Tampa - IMHO

I would me very disappointed if Grier was not brought back. He has turned into one of my favorite players. It's impossible not to like him with the effort and heart he shows out there every shift

Only if he's on it now. It is, after all, good stuff. ;)

I hear you. At the same time, when T-Bay throws $9M at Brad Richards, it will make others think...
