Remember that Mel Gibson you admired so much for his sensitive portrayal of the last days of Jesus?

Put him back on the "he's just a celebrity and should STFU!" list...

Gibson Inspired by 'Fear-Mongering' Bush
By WENN| Friday, May 12, 2006

HOLLYWOOD - Film star and director Mel Gibson has launched a scathing attack on President George W. Bush, comparing his leadership to the barbaric rulers of the Mayan civilization in his new film Apocalypto.

The epic, due for release later this year, captures the decline of the Maya kingdom and the slaughter of thousands of inhabitants as human sacrifices in a bid to save the nation from collapsing.

Gibson reveals he used present-day American politics as an inspiration, claiming the government callously plays on the nation's insecurities to maintain power.

He tells British film magazine Hotdog, "The fear-mongering we depict in the film reminds me of President Bush and his guys."

Mel's Catholic in name, but he and his pappy belong to an extreme sect that Rome does not recognize. He has about as much in common with today's Catholic Church as Brigham Young's Mormons of 1850.

Yes, Mel is a pampered celebrity and I don't give a rat's ass about his or any other celebrity's opinion.

All Hollywood stuff aside, there does seem to be more people jumping from the USS Bush than are waiting in line to get on. I work with a bunch of Republicans, I am the token democrat. Even they are turning on him. The office talk yesterday was all about voting in November against every single incumbent across the board.

Lots of anger out there folks.

Genesis 4
1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.

4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
