Hey guys and gals what can you tell me about Syracuse's law college? I did very well on my LSAT and I'm thinking about applying. More than this what is the campus like, and would you advise going there or not?

I went there. Not the Law School, but SU. What would you like to know?
I loved it. Great "college life" atmosphere. The campus is located on top of a hill. The "townies" as the students called them don't like the students too much and vice-versa. So, summers at the bars get a bit dicey because that's when a lot of the people who live off The Hill come up and party with those students who are still around for the summer.
The Carousel Center (mall) is a good place to shop away from campus. A lot of the campus life you experience will depend on where you live. In a dorm? South Campus?
But everything on campus is very accessible. You may have to walk up a flight of 100 stairs to get where you're going, but it doesn't require a car. Oh, and yeah, it snows a hell of a lot (usually more than Buffalo), and it gets pretty damn cold.
It's been 10 years for me since I left - so a lot has changed. But I can try and help as much as possible. Admarc can help, as well. He also went there, I believe, just a few years before me.

I graduated in '89 from the Architecture program. The Architecture graduating class that year was only 47. It really was the best of both worlds being in a small college within a much larger University setting. The Law School, I believe is larger, but likely has a similar small school within a big campus feel.
I had a few friends attend the Law school and all are successful lawyers now.
The sports scene is great. Nothing beats game day at the Dome or on M Street, be it for Football, Basketball or Lacrosse.
Good luck, no matter where you choose to attend.

Anyone know if Archie's Subs is still on M Street. I'd take a trip back just for one of their subs.

Damn, their pizza was good, too.
I managed Maggie's On The Hill next door for about a year. During the summer, I'd go there a few times a week for lunch just for a slice of pie.
Admarc - was Eli playing his guitar on M-Street while you were around? He was a cool cat!!

Thanks, Noc. Looks like good weather today. Short sleeves and shorts. But I don't remember all that parking on the other side of the street.

as a former townie, I can't say that we hated the students (though, I was usually the same age as most of them when I lived there). oh, Hungry Charlie's and Sutters...those where the days.

That doesn't ring a bell, it must have been after I left.

I grew up outside of Syracuse (Oneida) and it's a neat town. Probably more like Buffalo than any other city in NYS. Much more like Buffalo than Rochester is, that's for sure. Marshall Street is a lot of fun. Going to an SU game is, in its own way, similar to going to a Bills game.
Syracuse gets a TON of snow... usually several feet more than Rochester and Rochester gets a good bit more snow than Buffalo. It's an interesting place... the south side is extremely hilly, while the downtown and northside sit on a basin left over by Onondaga Lake. It's a very heavy industry town... Crucible Steel still churns out over by the Lake. Nice place to raise a family, good schools. Fayetteville and De Witt are good suburbs.
