35Pete: WR. What brought you to the Range?
WR: I started roaming the Range back in 2002. I think I actually had an account on the Range in March or April of 2002; my username had Moulds in the username. I forgot it though, and my e-mail changed. I used to browse all the Bills sites that BillsBackers.com linked to. I noticed I was really only spending time on the BBI and the Range, so I just decided to jump in and start posting.
35Pete: What are your present thoughts of the Bills staying in Buffalo?
WR: I do not think the Bills are going to leave Buffalo. It is clear that too many “important” people want the Bills to stay. They may have their selfish (political) reasons, but I think it will ultimately be in the organization’s favor. I think Ralph will have it planned out who will take over the team after he is done with it, and I do not think it will be his family. I am sure he will set up some type of sell, and his family will be the beneficiaries of the cash resulting from the sell. I feel strong about the Bills’ roots in Buffalo.
35Pete: How did you become a Bills fan?
WR: I’ve been a Bills fan ever since I can remember. My father used to work at International Harvester in Hamilton, Ontario, and he was a huge Bills fan. He still hasn’t given up on them, and he never will. I was brought up a Bills fan, and I can never ever see myself rooting for another team in my life.
35Pete: I hear that you are in law school. How the hell do you manage so much work on the Range and still manage that workload?
WR: Actually I just got accepted into law school at NYU at the beginning of this year. I will start in the fall. Currently, I am running a business and doing my MBA here in Macon. I have a manager in training to take over when I leave for school. How do I have enough time to get everything done? I sacrifice sleep. Well it’s not really a sacrifice, I really only need 5 or 6 hours of sleep. I feel bogged down the whole day if I sleep more than that. So there’s plenty of time to get everything done, I just have to remember to do one thing at a time and not freak out.
35Pete: What is your take on the QB situation in Buffalo?
WR: My take on the QB situation … may the best one play. I really think Craig Nall is going to beat out JP and Holcomb for the starting job. The only real knock against him is he is not very mobile, well Tom Brady isn’t considered very mobile either. Don’t get me wrong because I am not saying he will be the next Tom Brady. The thing Nall does seem to have, from reading the scouting reports, is pocket awareness, leadership skills, a good work ethic, he is smart and he has a good arm. I think he has all the tools to be a very good QB. JP needs to mature. This kid has all the tools to be a great QB, he is just a head case. JP reminds me of Jim McMahon from the Bear, but he might not be as extreme. If JP stops trying to impress everyone, and he just plays his game, I think he can be very good. Kelly Holcomb is the safe guard of on our QB roster. Everyone knows what the guy can do, and I think the team can do very well with him at QB. My only complaint is the offense cannot depend on Holcomb because of his inconsistency at times. Our team needs to be like Trent Dilfer and the Ravens, in order to win the Superbowl with Holcomb.
35Pete: Who do you believe are the top 3 teams in the NCAA Div I football this year? How do you think the GameCocks will do (your alma mater)?
WR: The top three teams in NCAA football in fall 2006 should be Oklahoma, Florida and Miami. Oklahoma has a good offensive line and a great running back in Adrian Peterson. Put that together with the stellar defense they have, and it is a recipe for success. Florida is going to thrive under Urban Meyer’s system this year. The team is also going to benefit from a down year for the SEC East. UGA lost a lot of its team to the draft, and they have no definite starter at QB. Richt’s offense must have a good QB for it to run properly. Tennessee is simply going in the wrong direction. Give the Gamecocks one more year, and they will win the SEC east. Miami is mad. They have a stellar defense, and a lot of raw talent on offense. They didn’t lose a lot of players that they will not be able to replace. The team has matured as a whole, and I think the beating they receive from LSU in the bowl game is a wake up call. I can see the canes winning the ACC, and making the championship game with only one loss. So my pick for the BCS championship game is Oklahoma and Miami. As for the Gamecocks. We missed out on Jimmy Clausen because he was not impressed with out facilities. Clausen made that clear to Spurrier. Our defense is being rebuilt, and our offense is a work in progress. I think offensively, we will be on top of the SEC. Defensively, we will be near the bottom of the SEC. I am looking at an 8-3 or 7-4 season.
35Pete: You are not really political judging from your activity in the PRS. Democrat or Republican?
WR: No, I am not very political. My beliefs are slightly more on the republican side, but I really am split. I hate politics right now because the country is split big time. Extreme right and extreme left. I do not think this is healthy, and I think we need a person in charge who is more in the middle, some one who can fuse the country back together. During the 2000 primaries, there was a Bush/McCain debate about 500 feet from my dorm in Columbia, SC. I didn’t attend, but I saw the whole thing on TV. Bush was Mr. Mudslinger, and McCain was staying on topics, nothing against Bush because Mudslinging is an effective tool, but ever since that debate, I have been a huge fan of John McCain. I agree with almost everything he says.
35Pete: Who should the Bills draft and why?
WR: In the first round, the Bills should draft Bunkley. I maybe wrong, but he reminds me too much of Warren Sapp to pass him up. In the second round, if he falls to us, I would draft Ko Simpson.
35Pete: Are you surprised at the Sabres this year? If not then tell us.
WR: I am very surprised with the Sabres. Even more surprised am I with their style of play. They are really impressive to say the least.
35Pete: What do you like the most about being a member of the Buffalo Range?
WR: I like reading peoples’ opinions from all over the country and from different parts of the world. The best is when some one says something, and you have one of those “aha” moments.
35Pete: Who is the hottest woman on the planet?
WR: Jennifer Love Hewitt! Been a fan of hers forever.
35Pete: Any final comments?
WR: The range is a great place for people to interact. I just wish people would welcome different opinions more. It’s all fun, and that just needs to be restated sometimes, fun! Lastly, GO BILLS!!
35Pete: Well. Thank You for your time.
